But Punjab United are not in the constitution on the WMRL Full Time page. Where have they gone?

Think MRA Punjab United are the side that played in the CML for a season or two at Shardlow St James.

I'm adored in Augsburg

So Punjab United from Derby would have been playing in the Wolverhampton Combination?

More changes from the ever exciting world of the Wolverhampton Combination. New club Mahal Warriors 3rd team will now not be joining, but they will be replaced by FC Saddlers.

Current champions Punjab United, who had been accepted in to the West Midlands Regional league, don't look as if they will be joining after all. They have until Friday to get their application forms and monies to the WMRL and this doesn't look likely to happen. Whether they will then enter some sort of team back in the Wolverhampton Combination will become a lot clearer next week, so watch this space.

Lastly, the league now has a web site. (No really!!) It is on Full-Time, and I have taken on the daunting task of trying to keep the world up to date with the constant changes that seem to be the norm in this league.

How come Perry Common OB play in this league?
Not Birmingham AFA as there certainly not in the Wolverhampton area!

Simple really. The league is open to any club as long as it is based within 20 miles of the league's headquarters at Fordhouses Cricket club. Perry Common played at College High School when they joined the league and that is 15 miles from Fordhouses.

Of course, the rules are not that exactly adhered to, and I am sure a club from outside the 20 mile area would be warmly welcomed. We are talking step 9 here, after all.

Fixtures on Bartestree's website suggest that Punjab United are in the West Midlands Regional League after all. Unless you know differently....

The WMRL fixtures were sent to clubs some time ago, at a time when Punjab United had been accepted in to the league with just their paperwork and league fees to be submitted. I doubt anyone would have thought that Punjab would just not get around to doing this, but clearly this is what has happened.

I understand Punjab may try and enter a team back in the Wolverhampton Combination now.

Never a dull moment in the Wolverhampton Combination with several changes to the constitution that was agreed at the AGM.

Out go Moreton Arms, Perry Common Old Boys and Sporting Khalsa Reserves to be replaced by New Cross Rovers, KG Saddlers and the returning Punjab United.

Two new venues for me to visit too. New Cross Rovers are listed as playing at Fowlers Park in Park Village and two clubs are now playing at Fordhouses Cricket Club.

The web site on Full Time is fully updated with fixtures and venues so there is really no excuse for you not to take a game in, Tim.

According to fulltime Azaad resigned from the league at the start of October.

Also Pendeford Santos are playing at Claregate PF rather than joining Emerald at Fordhouses CC.

After being accepted in to the West Midlands Regional league for this season, only to fail to pay their fees on time and return to the Wolverhampton Combination, Punjab United have now folded altogether. Their record has been expunged, leaving the league with just 12 teams now.

On a more positive note, congratulations to Rostance Edwards and Pendeford Santos for reaching the quarter finals and semi finals respectively of the Staffs Challenge cup and Birmingham Junior cup.
