Olympics road closures outside London Can't Post or Reply Privately

Thought it may be an idea to have this thread for areas outside London that will be affected by the Olympics and are to be avoided if possible.

Sat 28th - Sun 29th July
Try to avoid north and central Surrey. The cycling road races are taking place. The route is Putney - Kingston - Walton - Weybridge - Woking - Guildford - Dorking - Leatherhead - Esher - Hampton Court. Map below.

Tues 31st July - Weds 1st Aug
A smaller part of Surrey - Molesey, Walton, Weybridge, Oxshott & Esher, will see road closures for the cycling time trials. The main day is the 1st Aug but there will be rolling road closures on the 31st July.

9th July - 5th Sep (particularly 28th July - 11th Aug and 31st Aug - 2nd Sep)
The Egham area, including the A30 & M25, may be very busy at times as the Royal Holloway College is the base for athletes in the rowing events at Eton.

I haven't looked at the other areas. I'll let someone else do that.

Don't get me started. They marked one of the two A30 Egham bypass lanes as an Olympics-only lane at least a month ago. I work in the city, which is supposedly an Olympics tube hot-spot for the duration of both Games. Some people may be ever so slightly bruised by the end of the whole shebang if they get in my way on my journey to or from work. It may boost our economy (and drain our resources in other ways) but I didn't vote for it.
