Just noticed in the Isle Of Wight Saturday League Division Three - it would seem Wight Cherries have disappeared from the table and been replaced by AFC Bournemouth - is this a mistake? Or are Wight Cherries something to do with AFCB? The Cherries thing maybe a clue I guess? But why a mid season name change?

You are correct. It is to do with AFCB. Originally the team were called Wight Cherries, denoting that they were the academy side of AFC Bournemouth based on the Isle Of Wight. Hence the name.
However, AFCB were not in favour of this name so they requested that it be changed with immediate effect to AFCBCST...A.F.C.BOURNEMOUTH COMMUNITY SPORTS TRUST.
The name was changed I believe in October.
Personally I think that Wight Cherries are a better sounding name.
