Technically kicking off the 2012-13 season albeit with a mid-season game namely Liverpool v Chelsea in the WSL at Skelmersdale.

The centre of Stratford is apparently subject to delays and diversions on Sunday 1st owing to the arrival of the Olympic torch and the River Festival. the road from the centre to Tiddington, where the ground is, was mentioned. No idea of the timing of all this but might affect bus and car travel for the WSL match

Anyone planning to go to Derbyshire Police for the opening Stan Brewster Memorial Trophy games should note they've been moved to Denby Institute (Codnor Miners ground). Codnor Miners v Ripley Town at 12.30, followed by Crib v Newton at 2.15.

Had a look at the map.To avoid Stratford we can turn off towards Snitterfield and Hampton Lucy and then Alveston.Looks about the same distance through the minor roads.
