Firstly and foremostly, this competition will be open for ANYONE to play, as long as they are also registered players for vienna1964's 2012-13 Prediction League game, andto qualify for any prize (in either competition) MUST have completed a minimum of 58% of the available predictions in that game, come the end of it. Players not achieving that 58% may of course be counted in both games, but will be excluded from both winning prizes and roll-of-honour placings. ALL 58+%ers will achieve higher finishing places than others, no matter their respective ppg's. THIS GAME There are two parts to the game:- (i). Picking the three teams to gain the highest number of points in each division & the three teams to get the least points in each division -&- (ii). Correctly picking the champions, promotees, play-off candidates & relegatees in each division. Obviously some of your picks in (i) & (ii) will overlap. In (i). your scoring's simple for your top-three picks - you score whatever your chosen teams do (including any deductions/etc. applied to their points-totals. For your bottom-3 picks - you score the maximum possible points total for the division minus the actual points your team scores (noting here that deductions for these teams still work against you). To split placings in (i), when your points totals are equivalent - gd will be considered, where the gf for your top-3 will be added to the ga of your bottom-3 & vice versa, then compared. If the gd's are the same, then your gs totals will be used. Any further separators needed will be thought-up and objectively applied by admins as necessary! In (ii). as is applicable, you need to name a champion, any other directly promoted club(s), the clubs to occupy the play-off positions, the actual play-off winner & the teams which will occupy the 'normal' relegation positions - in each division. If events such as team withdrawals alter the number of relegation positions in any division, these shall be disregarded for the purposes of the game (i.e. the 'last-placed' team in the league table will ALWAYS be considered to be occupying the first relegation position, second-last - second relegation position, etc.). Points scoring in (ii) is very different. In this section of the game, you will be securing a percentage - which will give an initial ordering of positions for the section, but will then be multiplied by your points-score from (i) to give an OVERALL LEAGUE ORDER - which will be the basis for winning the prizes mentioned above. In each division, you begin with a 100% 'score'. For each correct predicted placement you are rewarded with a bonus percentage:- Predicting a champion = +15%, a 2nd.-placed directly promoted club where there is only the single-one = +10% also, a 2nd./3rd.-placed directly promoted club where there are two such = +7.5%, where there are three such = +5%. Predicting the clubs to occupy the play-off positions = +3.75% for each, the actual play-off winner = +6.25% extra to that (making +10% total) & the teams which will occupy the 'normal' relegation positions = +7.5% each for two, +5% each for three & +3.75% each for four. BUT:- There are 'snakes' as well as 'ladders' in this section! If you break up the league table into sections - i.e Champion, Also Direct Promotee, Play-off Winner, Play-off Loser, Other, Relegatee - then there will be penalty percentages deducted for the incorrect positioning of your picks, the amount depending upon how far wrong your pick ends up. You earn a -2.5% penalty for each section your pick is up/down from where you predicted it would be, except if your pick ends up the wrong side of 'Other' - which adds an extra 2.5% penalty! So. In each division all the bonuses and penalties are totaled up for all of your picks and then these totals are multiplied together to give your score for section (ii), results for all players collated for league table presentation. Note: Throughout the season two [Section (i) & Section (ii)] league tables ONLY will be shown... at least until the final three-four weeks of the season. Thereafter ONLY the OVERALL table will be shown. Remember - queries, comments, suggestions welcome!
