foreign double or triple header? Can't Post or Reply Privately

To those on the site who often go abroad, are there any cheap foreign double headers coming up in late July/August or failing that have you any advice on any cheap routes that have easy access to a few grounds? Manchester/Birmingham or East Midlands are my easiest airports?

Don't know about flight details, but you always get lots of games in, in the Prague area. Always a Friday & Monday top flight for TV, too, so you could get lucky with them.

I know you can get sunday morning non-league in Berlin & Hamburg too, but you will have to check. Go with my motto for Europe..."Have Easyjet...will travel!" ;-)

Probably not the best time to travel with such a late booking date. It's the first week of the main school summer holiday and hence flights will be expensive.

I've booked a weekend in Munich (for 3rd and 4th level games) and the flights are currently £292 (I paid £98).

For future reference Germany is good for a weekend from Manchester or Birmingham. As is Spain and the Netherlands.

Grounds: 1152. Last New Ground: Holbrook Hall, Holbrook, Derbyshire. Games since 0-0: 213

Copenhagen is also quite easy to get to, multiple fixture times/dates each weekend for fixtures. Only problem is the price of a pint!

You can fly Ryanair to Sweden too (obviously the Stockholm airport they use is way out of the city), and there's often midweek fixtures in the top division, sometimes the 2nd too.

I'd also recommend Germany and Switzerland is also quite doable, if like Denmark, a bit expensive.

Austria seems to have less flight options, but there's some cracking venues there, often surrounded by mountains. For Salzburg, you can fly to Munich and catch the train from there, perhaps combining with some German too, if the options are better (say if flying back on a Sunday evening). I've done a 1400 game in Hallein and travelling by train made the evening flight comfortably enough from Munich to Manchester.

EDIT: There's also Ireland. However, most football games there are Friday nights, but you will find Gaelic games on Saturday / Sunday if you're up for mixing sports. A few football clubs (Sligo, Longford) do play on Saturday nights though.

Osters v AIK (19/5)
Hammarby v Landskrona (20/5)

Also for the next few weeks there'll be league games on Sundays due to clubs Europa League involvement!
