Why doesn't anybody make them any more?

"Ernie" by Benny Hill
"The Funky Gibbon" by the Goodies
"My Bruvver" by Terry Scott
"Don't jump off the roof, Dad" by Tommy Cooper
Anything by Queen...

All childhood memories from Ed "Stewpot" Stuart's Junior Choice on Saturday mornings...

By the way, does anybody know where I can download "The Laughing Gnome by David Bowie...?

Stuart Hendry followed ES's show but used to play some
top stuff at the time.
His intro music used to be Nine by Nine by John Dummer...
just playing it now...first time I have heard it in 40 years...isn't
Google wonderous?

Joe Dolce keeping 'Vienna' off top spot was a travesty Cool

On a slightly different note, I found it funny when Cyndi Lauper's 'She Bop' hit number one in the USA before they all realised she was singing about the female equivalent of The Vapours 'Turning Japanese'. The 'going down south......' lyric was way above most American's heads !

One mustn't forget the Barron Knights - the ultimate take off group of the 1960s.

Which the BBC wouldn't play because it was a bit rude (kid's stuff today). It was of course the B-side to 'Funky Moped', sung by Carrott and played by the ELO, and which brought a cod Brummie accent into the nation's homes. This was quite a shock for some people...
