Report from "The Scarborough News"

The Scarborough News Sunday League will have a fresh look next season, with one new team joining and four clubs pulling out at last nightís Annual General Meeting at the Working Menís Club.

The resignations of first division sides Star and Staxton and FC Filey were expected but the late withdrawal of Castle Tavern meant there were only 27 teams left in the league.

But on a positive more this swiftly became 28 when Filey Flyers Reserves, a team of youngsters managed by Dave Brannan - boss of Saturday League outfit Filey Town - were voted in by the member clubs.

The new-look theme continued with several name changes.

The most notable alteration was the Pirates team being taken over by Newlands Park Hotel and being run as their reserve team, but with a new manager.
Another big change saw Manor become the new Castle Tavern FC, the youthful side now basing themselves at the Castle Road pub.

Turks Head will now be known as Shakespeare and Victoria and Victoria Reserves has changed to West Riding and West Riding Reserves.
The final team to change their name was Albert becoming Castle FC.

The season will start on Tuesday August 28 for clubs who wish to play night games and subject to pitch availability, with the finishing date of May 31 2013.
