I've had a look through the Danish FA's website but it only mentions rolling substitutions as a matter of fact. I'll try looking deeper tomorrow.

One thing I did found out that surprised me is the "rule" that a game shall be stopped if one team is less than 7 players actually only is a recommendation by The Board. The Danish FA have decided that if a game is started, which requires at least 7 players in a team, it shall be played to an end no matter how few players a team is down to.

There arent any 4th officials at the level football where rolling subs are to be introduced.

I don't think anyone has claimed there are.

I was addressing the issue of matches which have 4th officials and the unnecessary stoppages caused by substitutions.

That is exactly what they are doing - and the use of a sin-bin is contrary to the laws as well!

To clarify: FIFA have defined 'recreational football' as matches that are solely for amateurs provided such matches are not part of the most senior domestic competition of a member association.

At the Surrey County Intermediate League AGM tonight clubs voted against bringing this in.
It will be in place for some Surrey FA matches though. The Junior Cup I think. Maybe the Lower Junior as well.

The Southern Amateur League are trialling this in the Minor Section only (4th XI down). The AFA are, I believe, to use it in all cups including 1st XI. The Old Boys Cup are also doing this and the Amateur Football Combination's proposal is to do it in the whole league. The SAL gave clubs the option of not adopting it at all, adopting it for the entier league, for the Junior and Minor sections or just the Minor. Of 33 clubs voting, 24 voted in favour but also voted to remain with a maximum of 3 subs per team. They also voted to allow the League to ditch the pilot at the January Council meeting if felt appropriate.

The interesting thing for the SAL is that, as only 1st and 2nd teams have previously had to use team sheets, we now have a situation where everyone uses team sheets except 3rd XIs.

At the East Berks league AGM last night it was voted out. Not one person voted for it.

In use division 5 in Sweden. On the one hand thats quite high up theri system, but on the other its probably equivalent to Step 7 here.

I have no issue with it. In one game I saw, a player took a very heavy knock in the first half, was off the field of play for 25 minutes, came back on and scored!

There is no delay at all one player leaves the field another comes on.

Plays merry hell with the stats of Hoppers that have to record every substitution though!

This is what I expect to be the case here. I've heard all sorts of horror stories of how teams will be making endless substitutions to run down time but I just don't think it'll happen. Officials will add the time on and it'll just make the culprits unpopular and, at the end of the day, most people don't want to be considered to a bunch of ***ts, especially for so little gain.

I dont think it affected game time. My observation was that if anything it actually speeded the game up. I only saw it used in games with no Linesmen. All they had to do to change players was attract the refs attention. At the next break of play he just waved the new player on, precisely the problem for Hoppers stats was how fast it was done. I would argue that it removed the scope for using subs as a delaying tactic. If it encourages participation and player numbers then its a good thing.
