There was a report that someone actually went to tick one in Galashiels only to find it had no real ale!

But ive only ever done the one in Inverness and thats a good one.

The Edinburgh spoons were excellent; as I'm sure Chapeltom will agree Smile

Can thoroughly recommend The Standing Order especially, was the pick of the lot.

I have never been in a 'Spoons in Edinburgh. There are so many fantastic pubs there it would just mean missing one of them out, particularly since I am not a big drinker. Even the GBG is pretty useless there as they seem to habitually leave out some of the best pubs. My top 3 Edinburgh pubs aren't in it and one does 8 Real ales AND has a traditional Edinburgh grumpy barman who I actually heard call someone a "P***" for ordering lager! Not politically correct but funny all the same!

Said barman had been offended by this posh English students woeful attempts to pronounce "Deuchars" (something like "Doitchers" was what came out) so the ordering of a pint of chemical fizz tipped him over the edge! Smile

Fantastic City for drinking now, when I was at Uni there it had about 3 decent pubs.....Frown

We did 13 other pubs other than the JDWs, Bow Bar the pick of the lot I reckon, Guildford Arms was also pretty good.

1. Berts Bar (Haymarket)
2. The Baillie (Stockbridge)
3. Kays Bar (impossible to find but has been in the GBG on and off.)

The Oxford Bar is also good if you like you Rebus novels.

The Bow used to have a REALLY grumpy barman. Sadly he was so grumpy he got sacked for abusing punters....

There were some decent pubs in town Garth, but things may
have changed since my last visit. Need a taxi to the ground though.

In London, there is/was a thing called the 'Circle Line' club, who used
to meet in Hamilton Hall and get off at each stop - apart from Temple
which is a pub free zone - and have a drink at each stop (22).

The chip shop opposite the White Hart Hotel in the centre of the town was the chip shop used a few times in Lovejoy.

36 in jeans, 38 for trousers, have had to donate many of my old cloths to charity as they are now far to large.

Not drunk for five years, very rarely have a take-away, eat lots of fruit and veg, take plenty of exercise.

I'm never brave enough to ask my tailor the size when
getting measured up. Shorts always between clocks
forward and clocks back.

Most fruit bores me but do love 'Paraguayos' - a flat peach
and strawberries with Rossi ice cream, although the latter
tends to defeat the object.

I go for veg in a big way but not solo - has to be with meat.
Five glasses of wine counts though, no?

Does self abuse count as exercise?
