Griffon and Ricer need to stop being so touchy about themselves and insulting to each other.
The Midland Combination web site does show Rugby Town res - but they have no scheduled fixture yet, so whether they actually play is another matter.

Meanwhile, is the Les James Challenge Cup, (starting Saturday), the League Cup which will eventually involve all first teams?
This is vitally important, as I may well go to a game. Shocked

with a user name like VS Rugby I assumed that Mr Ricer would know what goes on at club, did he not indeed tell us that a friend had contacted the Secretary who confirmed that they had not applied!
Like said Mr Ricer I also have been nowhere near the club but yesterday looked on the Rugby Town website and there is the statement that

Rugby Town Reserves

Rugby Town Reserves newly reformed in 2011 and play in the Midland Combination Reserve Division One.

The Rugby Town Reserves play their home games at Butlin Road on Saturday afternoons kick-off 3pm. Admission is �2 for adults and �1 for concessions.

Also the MFC website Directory shows Rugby Town as members and list the ground and officials.

As Mr Ricer seemed so interested in the club I would have thought the first place to look would have actually been the club website but obviously I was wrong, so apologies for that assumption!
The Les James Cup is the League Cup and the three divisions all take part, Premier clubs come in at a later round.

Last word on the subject as I and no doubt others are bored with it.
Despite what seems like good evidence on both league and club sites I believe that Rugby Town Reserves will not have a team in the Reserve Division of the MFC this coming season.
I did try to bring a little humour into my post the other day but obviously failed miserably which is probably the reason my career as a comedian failed to get off the ground, sorry.

Just double checking the Mid Comb grounds as venues and directions have now been put on. It appears Coventry Spiers are not playing at the old Coventry Amateurs ground but at the Covnetry Spartans ground.

The info for both clubs is

"Westwood Heath Sports Ground, Westwood Heath Road, Westwood Heath, Coventry, West Midlands, CV4 8GP"

"Floodlights: Yes"

"After 200 metres turn right into the ground entrance (opposite church building). The sign at the entrance reads �Coventry University Westwood Heath Sports Ground�. The car park and pitch are on your left".

Unless the info for Spiers has been enter incorrectly?.

While in the Stratford Alliance the Coventry Spiers team in that is listed as playing at Westwood Heath Memorial Ground, Coventry, CV4 8HG which is the old Coventry Amateurs ground.

While Coventry Amateurs in the Stratford League are listed as playing at Finham Park School, Green Lane, Finham, CV3 6EA

Burntwood Town are listed as playing at Brereton Social on the Mid Comb website and not the Rugby Club, maybe one of our Mid Comb experts could get to the bottom of the various venues

And Blackwood are listed as still at Field Lane rather than at Highgate Utd.

It would appear the directory is not be relied upon. A pity as the Mid Comb site always used to be one of the better ones.

Directory on the league's website has been updated as well as september's fixtures.
Burntwood shown as playing at Burntwood rugby club.....

All of the above post re Barnt Green is accurate.
Checked this out last week when Barnt Green played at Alcester. Game on Wednesday at Triplex will kick off early so the lights do not have to be used.

Now that the website directory has been updated, Blackwood are still listed as playing at Field Lane. I also see that on Blackwood's website it says that are at Field Lane and it looks like that website is kept up to date (refreshing for this level!). So, because they are in the Premier Division, and kicking off at 7:45pm, can we presume that they now have floodlights at Field Lane?

Blackwood On The Move
Blackwood FC are pleased announce they will be moving to a new home at Highgate United for the start of season 2012-2013. This move will enable the club to gain promotion to the Midland Combination Premier Division should we finish in the top two this term.

This announcement comes after several weeks and months of talks between representatives of both Highgate United and Blackwood FC and I would like to place on record my thanks to everyone involved in securing this move.

I would also like to thank Hampton FC for being such good hosts to Blackwood FC for the last six seasons. I for one know we will be leaving Field Lane in a much better condition than we found it.

Blackwood FC have been promoted for the last five consecutive seasons to date, and now have a ground in place as we aim for promotion number six.

We have a fantasic group of forward thinking, ambitious people in the club both on and off the pitch. The players have been tremendous again this season and with a bit of luck and some more hard work will get their just rewards by achieving promotion.

The future for Blackwood FC is looking healthy.

1) Combination website says so & their own website states they have moved , so possibly. I always ring for confirmation .
