I wondered why they weren't there. It was nice to watch an England game on TV without that infernal tootling

Indeed. If this policy was introduced more widely, it might encourage me to actually attend some England games again which I haven't done for many years now.

"The band, which provides music to add atmosphere ..."

Real atmosphere is create by impromptu chanting/singing, not by a group of self important twerps with an extremely limited selection of 'tunes' (nor by an hysterical PA announcer, for that matter).

The guy who runs it became a Leeds fan briefly when he got a position at the club. After falling out with Mr Bates, (never?), he seems to have reverted to being a piggy again. What loyal support.

They shed tears when we banned them from the Lane.

You can bet your life they got free tickets for England games, I wonder if they will now pay for them and watch England anyway? Don't look for them on the TV!

We know you're not exactly well disposed towards those of a German persuasion Gareth, but are you now extending your antiphathy towards those who support the Owls? Cool

Thought it timely to revive this thread. I'm trying to decide which is worse when watching a televised game - a chorus of vuvuzelas or the England Supporters Band who have been playing the same bl00dy tunes for 15 years.

Everytime I see Gary Cahill in an England shirt I take pride in a local Dronnie lad doing great things. Smile On the other hand every time I hear that useless band murdering their limited repertoire I pray nobody remembers where they started out. Frown

I can generally "tune-out" the band (although I did panic when they initially had the seats in front of me in Kiev!) but those bloody vuvuzelas are just an undending cacophony.
