6 reserve teams to join Portugal D2 for 2012/13.

Allegedly 5 new reserve teams are joining the Portugal D 2 for next season. Benfica , Braga , Porto , Sporting and V d Guimaraes are joining existing Maritimo reserves in the second level of football in Portugal. They will not play in L Cup or the P F A Cup
The Liga de Honra (Orangina) is increasing from 16 clubs to 22 for the new season.
The big clubs have been after this for a while, There has not been much competitive football fot their 'stiffs' in recent times.
A league was formed in 2007 by Braga and Porto the 'Intercalar' league for their reserves , this went national and lasted until the end of 2010/11 season when it had a North and a South group with the winners of each meeting in a national final . Games were played in midweek afternoons . AFAIK no reserve league was in place in 2011/12.
Details of grounds they will play on are sketchy at the moment with some still having to confirm where games will be staged at.
A recent newspaper report seems to suggest this is a done deal with the league =

O prazo de inscrições terminava precisamente esta segunda-feira e segundo anunciou a Liga os seis referidos clubes apresentaram as inscrições nos termos do regulamento recentemente aprovado pelo organismo.
FC Porto, Marítimo, Benfica, SC Braga, Sporting e V. Guimarães terão assim as equipas secundárias no segundo escalão profissional, que na próxima época será disputado por 22 clubes. Não poderão subir de Divisão, nem participar na Taça da Liga nem na Taça de Portugal.''
