England are the only quarterfinalists who have never played in a Euro final.

Lets hope that statistic is maintained! I also hope Italy do the job to save Germany the trouble! At least then we won't have to listen to the same old enemy stuff again Crazy
The less time we have to put up with our boring football on the box the better!
Come on Germany!

Are you not English then ?

No rammler I don't think they are playing well but I support them so as long as they win I'm not too bothered .
Admit it would be great to see my team play great football and win but hey ho a win is a win.
Watching the Bucks you must want the opposition to win on many occasions if that your principle , ''like to see best footballing team win ''?

Are you English or not?

My country aren't very good and don't play good football............but they're my team and I always want to see them win. The very idea of wanting them to lose to another team - especially the Teutonic Twats - is anathema.

I love Italy. I've had some fantastic holidays there. The food, weather, scenery etc. are all wonderful. Having said that, there is NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that I would want Italy to beat MY country tomorrow night. I'm English (despite the username), born in England of English parents & grandparents, and I will ALWAYS want my country to win. The football at the moment is workmanlike but effective, and we may be punching above our weight, but this is England - MY England, and I relish every victory.

I'm afraid I have never been able to show any allegiance to a load of premiership players from clubs I don't support or even follow. Like most people who wear Man City shirts at the moment, when it comes to world football, I just support the best team.
At least it keeps the debate flowing Wink

Actually, I've just remembered, Cristina Scabbia, might be a good enough reason to support Italy Tongue

Are you ''intoxicated'' everyones ''against you''.
I'm sure you'll ''survive'' despite being the ''underdog'' but ''give me something new''

Re: [rainjar] Euroballs.... [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

There was mention earlier on TV that Italy last won the European Championships in 1968, 2 years after having had a crap World Cup, and the last time Manchester City were English champions.

They could also have mentioned that Manchester United were runners up, and English champions the year before, while the European club champions were English.

And no holders have won the tournament next time out - the Soviet Union (1960, 1964) and West Germany (1972, 1976) both lost when, as holders, they reached the finals again the next time out.

And Spain's triumph last time out, in 2008, was 44 years after their only previous triumph in 1964. They were succeeded by Italy four years later in 1968. If Italy win, it will be their first triumph since their only previous triumph in 1968, 44 years ago, when they succeeded Spain as European champions. And they would be succeed Spain again.

If they're going to find historical patterns, I do wish they'd make more effort to be comprehensive. Crazy
