For years I bought the Guardian until it became as comically pc and metro liberal as the Daily Mail is comically right wing.

After that I tried the Telegraph but eventually decided I didn't have time to read enough of it to make it worthwhile.

Now its just the local paper and "Private Eye".

I used to read the Times, but gave up after their "coverage" of the AV referendum last year

Yes we had one and voted mcleish out. Thankfully our voices were heard and acted upon

An alternative theory is that the Sun backs whoever looks likely to win the election. This was not a problem with Blair as he was not left-wing at all, but it will be interesting to see what happens with Ed Miliband if Labour keeps up its big lead in the opinion polls.

It wont be, because he also is not left wing at all!

Alternatively The Powers That Be have a nice strategy if he does start to cavort with such frightening ideas as SOCIALISM, which will be to pillory him until he becomes unelectable. Frankly this wont be too difficult as he is a parody of himself anyway half the time.

Virtually no dailies for me (haven't bought one regularly for over 20 years), occasionally buy the I if I've got a long journey or something.

Weeklies - the Cornish Guardian and occasionally other local papers. NLP doesn't tell me much I don't already know, and I've given up with the Sunday Independent as it's become more and more Plymouth-centric and rugby-centric, and the columns on the non-league scene are just mainly rehashed press releases and again stuff I know already.

Yes fair to say it will not be until the Murdoch dinosaurs have died out and further painful stories about the rich (and powerful) come out that socialism becomes a populist alternative. Probably a generation away sadly.
