Oxfordshire Senior League 2012/13 Can't Post or Reply Privately

It would be a shock if they had announced their line-up for next season as they are still pondering the 2011/12 season.

Looking at local league websites the follow can be gleaned - According to the Witney & District League Forum of the 59 entries received by the league for next season Chadlington are looking to enter two teams, Meanwhile on the Aylesbury & District League site in the "May Minutes" it says Long Crendon have made enquires to join the league.

Oxford Mail today reports that AFC Hinksey look likely to be thrown out of the league if they are not accepted by the Hellenic League, they have been deducted nine points and OUP are champions.

Slade Farm have folded they were using Bicester Town's ground last season.

Picked the below up from Chalgrove's Facebook page, they were runners-up in the Oxford City F.A. last season

"We're delighted to announce that Chalgrove FC are now an Oxfordshire Senior League club following our attendance at their league AGM tonight. The club received a 100% vote by the committee and clubs and will appear in the Senior League Division 1 for the 2012/2013 season. The club would like to thank both the Chalgrove Cavaliers & Chalgrove Parish Council for their support in our applications this season, it's been fantastic to receive such positive support from both. Onwards & upwards!!"

Just found this on club website confirming Chadlington have left the OSL

Statement from Chadlington FC (31/5)

Chadlington FC wish to announce that they have resigned from the Oxfordshire Senior League. They have made an application to the Witney & District FA League for the season 2012/13.

The application is for two teams as the Club wishes to re-establish a second team after a period of two years operating with a single team.

Trying to beef up news on local leagues, posting it from both angles. Will be interesting to see the OSL formation. Really slow on the news front from said leagues, only Witney seeming to have set up for next season and Oxford City F.A 2012/13 @

Nothing we did not know about, even down to Long Crendon not going to the Aylesbury League.

Out: Hinksey (Hellenic), Chadlington (Witney & Dist), Slade Farm (folded)

In: Chalgrove (Oxford City F.A)

14 / 12 split, have to have 14 to keep 7a status. Getting to the point if many more clubs leave the league will be struggling to have a 2nd division.

Oxford City on full-time still listed with 7 clubs for 2012/13, down from 10 in 2011/12 - Chalgrove (OSL), Radley (NBL), Nuffield Arms (unknown)

Witney League gaining cluns.

Banbury District & Lord Jersey not yet known.

Looks like both North Berks and Aylesbury League have increased in numbers.

Not 100% sure Richard, all I would say is they have had the amandments made that matter, giving OUP the championship of the Premier and Riverside the championship of Division One

Wasn't there a team from Stokenchurch in the Oxfordshire Senior League in the last couple of years, or am I imagining that? (Years back Stokenchurch FC were members of the Hellenic.)

Stokenchurch were in the league for 2 or 3 seasons getting on for 15 years ago. Stokenchurch were in the Hellenic for a number of years in the early days but lost their ground when the first bit of the M40 was built and they were never given a new ground. For a number of years they played on little more than a field behind the village hall which is behind the shops on the northern side of the A40. They had a few seasons in the Chiltonian League.

As an asdie and one of our favourite topics Stokenchurch was actually in Oxfordshire until the late 19th century, though as a football team they have always been B&B. The same applies to Long Crendon (Bucks) and Mollington (Warks) who were also both in Oxfordshire for periods, though I am not sure the latter has ever had a football team.

An open goal and Molders couldn't resist ! Hurrah !!!

Andy's list of counties that have places that used to be in Oxfordshire now exceeds the number of counties in England. They are all referenced on the Bayeux Tapestry, itself fashioned in one of Oxon's foreign enclaves which can still be accessed directly by means of a secret tunnel from under Didcot Power Station

Full-Time and find-a-club have them as Romanway though last season they were playing at Cutteslowe Park. And from the pictures on their facebook page it is a pitch I have not done at Cutteslowe. Did not think anyone played at Romanway as it is now Oxford United's training ground, though things change very quickly in football. The chap listed as sec on find-a-club is the sec and has been for many years.

Just had a thought maybe the OSL have listed a couple of their as playing at Romanway or have come to an agreement with BMW / OUFC for them to use it again as the ground would met the step 7 requirements and in so doing boost the leagues grading ?.
