A trip to Vienna last week with Mrs Colpic and I managed to fit it a couple of games:-
Thu 31 May 6pm
FAC Team fur Wien 2 Wiener SK 1

Location
FAC (Floridsdorfer Athleiksport-Club) Platz is on Hopfengasse on the northern side of the city. Take the S Bahn to Floridsdorf (several lines go there) then Tram 26 for 4 stops along Pragerstrasse to Hopfengasse. When you get off the ground is right in front of you.
Ground
Grassy banks behind both goals. A decent stand along the near side, six rows deep with a raised covered drinking/eating area behind so you can have beer & sausages without missing a kick. The opposite side has a terrace in the centre with grass banking at each corner. There is another Kantine if you get thirsty when doing a lap of the ground.
The Match
FAC needed to win to finish in the top 9 (bizarre but true) and thus qualify for next seasons OFB Cup. One down at half time, they showed some spirit in the second half and two great strikes from Ilic gave them the points.

Location
Gerasdorf is a village to the north east of Vienna. Take the S Bahn from Praterstern (lines 2 and 15 go there on the half hour and the trip takes 20 mins. The Franz Hein Stadion is fairly simple to find although I made a total @rse of it and headed for the Sportplatz rather than the Sportzentrum and having walked a mile or so past the turning, and with kick off time fast approaching,I had to hitch back into town and a kindly Turkish chap helped me out so I got there with 10 mins to spare. The 'real directions' are fairly simple. Right out of the station on to Bahnhofstrasse, then right at the second set of lights onto the main Hauptstrasse then left when you see a sign to the SPORTZENTRUM. Its a 25 minute walk. Trains run back to Vienna until after 11pm.
Ground
Floodlights (bit of a surprise). There is a clubhouse at the entrance selling a vaiety of club merchandise and the usual refreshments and a stand down the left hand side with 200 or so seats. There is shallow terracing on the right hand side and behind the far goal, although this appeared to be closed off. To the left of the entrance was a big marquee and it looked like a major p*ss up was being arranged for the weekend.
The Match
End of season stuff. The visitors took the lead but this prompted Gerasdorf to get their fingers out and they equalised before the break with a penalty. The winner came half way through the second half. Lots of histrionics from both teams but not much in the way of goal threats.

SC Ostbahn XI 4 Post SV Wien 3

Location
Ostbahn's ground is on Hasenleitengasse in the Simmering district in south east Vienna. U Bahn line 3 terminates at Simmering and there is a street map in the station. On leaving the station cross the road and turn right, then take the first left, thats Hasenleitengasse. Its a 10 minute stroll to the ground.
Ground
Basic. There's a clubhouse and bar to the lefthand side of the car park and another food/drink stall just inside the ground. The pitch is basically in a shallow bowl surronded on three sides by grass banking and by an all weather pitch at the far end. There is bench seating of a sort on the right hand side. No floodlights. The photo on Soccerway says it all.
The Match
Ostbahn had already won the league but Post gave it a real go from the start and scored in the first minute. The home side then went 2-1 up and missed a penalty but it was all square by half time. Post players were a little robust in their approach (Thank God) and by the hour mark they had 6 players on a yellow. The inevitable happened and one of the 6 got a 2nd yellow, and when Ostbahn added two more it looked like a rout was on the cards. All credit to the visitors, they kept going and earned a penalty which they scored and they battled on gamely to the end. Incidentally, I took Mrs Colpic to this one - she missed 3 of the 7 goals, the sending off and one of the penalties (no, she didn't take it!) as she was busy being nosey and not paying attention.
Useful info:-
A 72 hour pass for the Vienna transport system cost 14,50 euros - a bargain. Although these can be bought at the airport, the airport itself is outside the validity of the pass so you have to buy a 2 euro ticket to travel into the zone which the pass covers. Get this from the machine on the S Bahn platform.
FAC and Gerasdorf have decent grounds and are both worth a visit. Ostbahn, less so.
