I'm not aware of any prison that dumps released prisoners at the gate and leaves them too fend for themselves.

You need to read up on the process a bit more then.

However some prisoners don't want any such help, upon release they are straight back to a life of crime because prison is not a detterant to them. Gareth's got the right idea about how prison life should be.
