No worries, and you are in for a treat when you hear "Fallen Sanctuary".

Anyone else here going to the "Dames of Darkness" in Wolverhampton on Saturday?? Delain/Whyzdom/visions of Atlantis.

Depending on stage times I am looking at sneaking in a game beforehand...Wink

I assume you mean the one in Bilston rather than Wolverhampton.

Too much of the same thing for me, I'm afraid - up to ten hours of varying degrees of quality. Stage times are on the Robin website. I will however be at the Delain/Within Temptation Birmingham gig in a few months with some quite different stuff on the menu in the interim

I'll be there, but not for the whole day. Looking to go to a game first, then probably catch the last 4-5 bands. Probably Delain's only UK gig this year, so have to be there Smile

I ended up seeing the last 5 bands, helped by some technical difficulties delaying Azylya's entrance on stage.

Azylya - not my sort of thing. Too much growling. The female vocalist's outfit won my vote for best of the evening.
Apparition - I thought these were great, once the guitarist had sorted out sound issues. Really good sound & a strong vocalist.
Whyzdom - not bad. Guitarist was a bit of a nob. Some songs are a bit messy.
VoA - disappointing, really. Was expecting better, but good stage presence. Where was the bassist?
Delain - awesome. The crowd were totally pumped up for this. I was down the front, giving it loads. My 4th Delain gig, and I've already got tickets for nos. 5 & 6 Cool

Need some sort of means of identification for these events so we know who each other is!

Saw the same bands as you and broadly agree, though i thought the only good thing about Apparition was the singer. The accompaniment was feeble even after the sound improved.

VoA really need a bassist. They were MUCH better here than with Serenity and seemed to go down very well, but you cant hear the Synth once the songs start as its drowned out by the mechanized bass sound, for a band with loads of synth in studio work its very disappointing.

Very impressed by Delain. Particularly the set list with lots of gems from Lucidity. Refreshing after bands like WT and Nightwish doing ever shorter sets and pretending they have only done two albums. Played for over 90m and that afyer starting late. Added an extra track too. Superb.

I still enjoy FLOWING TEARS more than any other band, they were the first ones I listened to and have remained my favourite ever since. Helen Vogt is a beautiful singer in every way Angelic
I don't know if there will be any more albums from them though Unsure

Metal Female Voices Fest 2013, Oktaberhallen, Weize, Belgium (18 to 20th October)

I have been to this event for the last 9 nine years and this years is definitely the best ever and features, Tarja, Delain, Revamp, Lacuna Coil, Serenity, Leaves Eyes, Stream of Passion, Visions of Atlantis and Anneke von Giersbergen (ex The Gathering).

Can't wait. Football has to take a back seat this weekend.
