Indeed the end of an era. I was lucky enough to visit twice and have seen the ground in two very different lights. In 1992 I was here for a German Cup game between TSV 1860 and Dynamo Dresden. TSV were in the Bayern Oberliga at the time and playing all first team games at Grünwalder Strasse. It was still not that long since reunification, and nobody seemed quite sure if Dresden would have any fans at the game. In fact, they brought around 5,000 in a 17,500 attendance and contributed to a fantastic atmosphere, as the away team won 2-1 in glorious sunny weather. The second time was in 2003 for a much more mundane TSV 1860 Amateurs game against Ismaning (soon to be their hosts), also in the Oberliga Bayern and a 3-0 home win in front of just 250 or so. My main memory was of how flipping cold it was that particular evening.
