refresh on chrome Can't Post or Reply Privately

This isn't really a problem but is your website okay to run on Google Chrome? I'll tell you why because everytime I try to use Chrome I have to refresh the page about 3 times before the whole page installs. If I use IE it installs the first time. The trouble is I don't like IE and I always use Chrome.

I update the fixtures/results on Non-League Matters using Chrome displayed on the left hand side of my screen, whilst displaying the fixtures/results of my league site on the right hand side of my screen using IE.

No problem.

It's always been fine for me; Chrome is the best :)

I know it's the best but it's just this site thats take's an age to download so I keep NLM on IE as my home page and use Chrome for everything else.

It started going wrong a few months ago when I had "Panda" security software installed. I don't know what it was that made me do it but I un-installed Panda and installed Norton instead. Everything was fine straight away but it's only NLM that won't run properly.

Windows XP SP3, Firefox 12, Avira AV, ZoneAlarm firewall, and I've got no problem with load times at all!

Installing such "Anti-virus" software won't help. Have you cleared your cache and cookies? That might have an effect on loading a website.

I must be one of the few people that clears my cache on a weekly basis. I've done it ever since the last forum I used to be on went to the wall and it was down for two weeks. Even when the site was up and running again I still couldn't get the site until I cleared my cache. I done regular ever since then.
Some certain types of software can do untold things to your computer and my computer was running really rough when I had Panda security installed but as soon as I installed Norton it has run fine ever since and I still can't get NLM properly when I'm using Chrome.

Re: [burrow] refresh on chrome [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Well, I think I've found the answer to my problem with Non League Matters. I always had to refresh the page on Chrome about 3 times before the site appeared. I then used IE which worked fine for a while and then I nearly always had to refresh the page before it opened fully. The other day I thought I would try Firefox, which I have never really liked, and I found that N L M opened first time and every time so there will be no more pulling out of hair and steam coming out of my ears.

I have to tick the 'Don't use cookies' box to log in first time.
I've been doing it for so long now that it's something I don't even think about any more. Muscle memory I suppose.

Do you tick the 'remember me' box? I never have to log in, it just logs me in automatically when I come here. Actually, thinking about it I have to log in probably once a year so the cookie probably lasts 12 months.... then I do have to log in twice but after that forget about it.

Even if I save the password on Chrome I still have to press login twice! Hardly a major annoyance I know but still curious.

Re: [burrow] refresh on chrome [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

I may have the answer to all those people that have trouble getting on to this site.
I have tried all the main browsers and each one has let me down, having to click on the refresh button a number of times before the site will open completely but I have found a new browser(new to me) and it's called 'Maxthon 3'. I know you're all saying what difference will that make, well, I will try everything if it means it'll work better.
I installed Maxthon 3 the other day and I thought I would give it a few days trial at first before I spread the news and it has worked admirably for me without ever having to click the refresh button once.
I suggest you try it and see it it works for you, if it doesn't you can always delete it.
