Ex Barrow, Workington, Bury, Coventry and Swindon winger Barry Lowes died on May 8th after a short illness. I remember him joining the Sky Blues late in our promotion season of 1966-67 but he only made a handful of appearances and failed to impress Jimmy Hill, who rather like Sir Alex Ferguson, knew exactly when to release a player. He joined Swindon soon afterwards but played only twice before sustaining a career ending injury.
