Three clubs still in with a chance with two games to go.

Montpellier P 36 Pts 76 GD +32
Paris St Germain P 36 Pts 73 GD +30
Lille OSC P 36 Pts 71 GD +31

Last weekend, Montpellier won away at 5th placed Stade Rennes, PSG won away at mid-table Valenciennes, while defending champions Lille won at home at struggling Caen.

Today, we have:

Lille v Montpellier
PSG v Stade Rennes

Lille need to win to keep alive their hopes of retaining the title. PSG need to get at least as good a result as Montpellier to keep alive their hopes.

In the last round of matches next Sunday, we have:

Auxerre v Montpellier
Lille v Nancy
Lorient v PSG

Auxerre are currently bottom, but only 4 points behind the club in 14th place, with a superior goal difference to all the other clubs in the bottom half of the table.

A last minute goal against Lille means Montpellier will go into the last round of matches needing one point to win the title. GD is now equal, so a Montpellier lose coupled with PSG winning would gift the title to the Parisiens. Lille finish third and Lyon fourth

Montpellier came from behind at Auxerre to win 2-1 and clinch their first ever title.

In fact, they've only ever finished in the top 4 once before - third in 1988.

Not so much Ligue 1 but Ligue 2.

Well aware the top division in France change their days and kick off times, anyone know if the same happens in Ligue 2 or will the opening fixtures on the 26th July remain on the same night?

Anyone with any queries or need any help planning a trip to Fareham Town FC - give me a bell.

The pattern for next season will be 8 games on Friday at 18.45. One on Saturday at 14.00 and one on Monday at 20.30. Also isn't the opening day of Ligue 2 on the 27 July not 26?

Cheers for that - Soccerway and a french language site had the games showing on Thursday 26th.

Due to sailing times and commitments here, that's now out the window.

Anything on soccerway without a time is always on the previous day, if using a UK computer. Leo has mentioned the Soccerway administrators don't see this at their end so I suspect this might be time zone related - if it's in their database as 27/7 0:00, that's 26/7 23:00 here, but it may well be suppressing a time at 0:00 in their database, so shows as 26/7 with no time....
