Bands you wish you had seen Can't Post or Reply Privately

Has anyone got any bands/gigs they wish they had attended.

Apart from the obvious Led Zep and the Who in the 70s.

Kate Bush just the one short tour in 1979.

XTC apparently a great live band before Andy Partridge got stage fright in 1982.

Red Hot Chili Peppers a few years ago - I could still see them I suppose but they're just aging old rockers these days.

The Levellers a few years ago - see above.

All About Eve - went to see them at a festival but the singer had a sore throat so they pulled out. Gutted.

Any of the first wave of punk bands, especially Eater and X-Ray Spex.

Crass and all the other 'anarcho-punk' bands during the early-mid 80's.

Radical Dance Faction.

Peter & the Test Tube Babies.

King Kurt.

And dozens more of a similar nature. I spent most of my youth watching local bands so missed out on the bigger stuff. A bit like football really.

I thought the point of this thread was lamenting acts of old that you had missed the chance of seeing. Some of the above are still around and I make a point of seeing the Levellers pretty much every year. Sort it aht!

The Doors.
I've seen the tribute band and musically they're excellent but there was none of this supposed charisma that Jim Morrison had....

If you're going to/been to a Hampshire Premier League match, I'd really appreciate you filling in a questionnaire - available in the Groundhopping/General section, or just PM me for a copy. Thanks.

Good call, I would add Free to the list, I used to see bands at Bracknell Sports Centre but missed Free when they were there as I was recovering from Motorcycle accident. I did manage to see Bad Company at Charlton in 1974 or 1976 whichever one they were on so I guess that would be the next best thing.

Fair point Paddy. I should have added that of those that are still around I wouldn't bother now. For example, I'd have loved to have seen the Cure around 1981 when they were performing the stuff from their 'Faith' album. I wouldn't buy a ticket to see them now as their last two albums have been less than spectacular.

Blimey have started a thread that has taken off lol.

Did manage to see The Jam 3 times in 1981 and 1982. Shouldn't have done as under 18 at time.
