Over the next week or two I will be putting together a design document to upgrade the software that runs the main site. I will then take this to the design team and we will see what can and cannot be implemented into what we will call Version 2 of the software. How much gets done on this upgrade depends entirely on the funds that are availabe and nothing else.
You can contribute to the funds for this project by:

Making a Donation or taking a Forum subscription.
Taking out an advertising package
Opening a StanJames account as StanJames are not only paying up front for site advertising but are offering a good commission on all new accounts opened using the NLM promo code.

Many many thanks to all of you that have contributed so far but I need more numbers if we want some serious improvements. Pretty please Angelic

So here is the list and feel free to add to it if there is something you particularly want to see:

Archive - we need to archive the current season tables and results before moving onto the next season. There is currently no facility to change seasons.
Search facility - search for fixtures / results by date, search for clubs by club name, search for leagues by league name?
League Tables display - change to home and away records rather than (or aswell as) totals, add a goal difference column, add different colour backgrounds to promotion, play off and relegation places
Fix the display of news stories on the front page, forum link in the footer and points deductions throwing the gloal PPG table out of order
Tone down some of the colours! Shrink the depth of the top graphic so that it takes less screen space.
Change display of fixtures / results to current month only with the option to choose other months, it saves having one long list of fixtures / results
Look into embedding the tables on third party sites - question to anyone who would want this.... would you want just the league table or the results / fixtures too?
Remove attendance stats tables from leagues that do not issue attendances. Disregard '0' as an attendance figure when calculating the average table.
The '0-0 win!' add the facility to award a match to a team that hasn't been played. Also make this, along with points deductions an Editor function rather than a Admin one.
Form table. 'Last 6 matches' or something like that generates a league table for the last 6 games each team played.
Fix some sort orders for Editors so that teams and leagues are displayed alphabetically.
Display League Table last updated: [Date]
One single page that lists every league, the date it was last updated and whether it has a Editor assigned to it or not.

I think that's most of it.

 Steve, I feel the above could be brought together. The display of results and fixtures for both the inquiries screen and the editors screen should be similar. The sort key for both screens should display Fixtures/Results in Alphabetical sequence with their Attendance/KO time as appropriate. Display's could be a rolling 28 days, just a thought, with "More" as required. Current month might only display 1 day at worse. You did say feel free to add etc, etc......

Can you not just enter this as a match result then?

When looking back on results as an archive it will probably make more sense to start at the start of the month rather than have them in the reverse order that the games were actually played. Remember there will only be one months worth there at a time, not the huge list that we have now.

Yes sort order both on site and on Editors screen should be DATE - LEAGUE ID - ALPHABETICAL BY HOME TEAM

I'm not a database expert but I imagine a 28 day rolling fixture facility would be quite complicated and even confusing. What would "More" take you to? 29 - 56 days? I'll have a word with the designers though, thanks for the input. I'm not sure this would be too useful for Editors and Site Users will have a search facility.
