The Olympics may be a 20-minute train ride from my doorstep but my excitement level as to its coming has yet to reach the lazy lob stage. How comforting to know that another £40m - apparently from within the original budget - has been found to improve on the fireworks, before and after. And the security bill has now reached over half a billion with 23,700 security staff needed. I would love to see a break down on costs for that. If they are paid £100 a day for both events that would come to say £60m, although I cannot believe any self respecting terrorist would hit the paralympics, not exactly high profile for a takedown of the Great Satan's lapdog... I do hope I am wrong but the travelling will be a nightmare considering the siting of the Olympic village so close to the City. Coming from my manor, to the east, won't be too bad as most peeps will get there after the rush hour and few tourists will come in that way because there is little accommodation that side of town...but coming from the West...it's gonna by mayhem. Oh, and as for the evenings in the summer.... I shall be renting Chez Quixote out to some rich Yank and piss off to the Costa Dorada for the month. Happy days....
