I didn't see any programmes at the recent Andorra v Ireland Euro 2012 match but apparently there was one issued.

A 4-pager is on E-bay with a teamsheet and the top current bid is an incredible 160. Not worth that to me, but......how much would you pay for a programme for a game you attended and failed to spot on the night?

I seem to remember Ashers saying he paid about 70 extra to sit in a part of a Turkish Stadium where programmes would be found rather than go without. I'm not sure I'd go over 20 and even then not every time.

Nowt , gave up progs years ago. Have a few left to sell , saving for my old age.
I do remember going a prog fair at Stoke once and seeing a 1 page Stoke Reserve prog (creased and written on) go for 180 !! Obviously it helped that 3 people were bidding.
I managed to get rid of 1 programme of mine for a lot more than 1000 to a dealer , it's available here if anybody wants it (only 4000).Bit of a mark up ? -

1959 R.Madrid v Reims (Stuttgart) 200, 1960 R.Madrid v Eintracht (Hampden) 100, Reprint 5, 1961 Benfica v Barcelona (Berne) 100, 1962 Benfica v R.Madrid (Amsterdam) 100, 1963 AC Milan v Benfica (Wembley) 15, 1964 Inter v R.Madrid (Vienna) with 4 page insert RARE 300, 1965 (Milan) No official programme published, 1966 R.Madrid v Partizan (Brussels) 50, 1967 Celtic v Inter (Lisbon) 250, 1968 Man Utd v Benfica (Wembley) original 15, Reprint 5, Replay @ Highbury Reprint of proposed programme if Wembley game was a draw 5, 1969 AC Milan v Ajax (Madrid) 25, 1970 (Milan) No official programme published, 1971 Ajax v Panathinaikos (Wembley) 4, 1972 Ajax v Inter (Rotterdam) RARE 500, 1973 Ajax v Juventus (Belgrade) staples removed and teams neatly inserted in the space provided in the centre pages VERY RARE 4,000,

The 68 final only went up in price a few years back when the Mancs became
uber popular with the world and its uncle.
Was 50p on most dealer's lists before then. Also, the 63 final at Wembley is
usually in plentiful supply. Was played midweek with an afternoon kick-off if
I recall.

Totally agree with the above.

Not sure about availability or how plentiful some of these "programmes" actually are from internationals. A friend who has been to numerous England games in far flung parts of Europe has said there is no evidence of programmes at games yet by the time he returns home a "programme" is always available on ebay at some silly price.

Agreed , the gentleman who I sold that programme to which is mentioned above has been known to buy the all the programmes printed at some far flung venues for England games.
Shared rooms with him in some very strange places , China for one when a lot of his time was negotiating programme deals.

I don't buy progs on the day if they are overpriced, so certainly wouldn't pay more than face value for one after the event.

A ticket to see a game is a different matter though, in my view. If you had not been able to get a ticket in Andorra, would you have purchased one for 160 from a tout ?

No. Having made my way there, we had the same discussion in the pub hours before the game. I said I might go to 100 Euro..........but was confident that wouldn't be necessary.

The match in question was at Galatasaray's old ground in 2010, and the programmes were only available in the main stand. I paid about 70, not 70 extra on top of the prices for the other parts of the stadium. Furthermore, at that time the exchange rate was very poor, just 2.26 Turkish Lira to the pound (according to a historic exchange website which I have just googled) as opposed to around 4.40 TL to the pound on my most recent visit to Turkey a few months ago. So this would be only around 35 today.

I haven't been to Galatasaray's new stadium yet, so can't comment on the programme situation there.

I paid 20 or 25 for the Germany v England 1-5 in Munich. I was there on the night and didn't pick up a copy. Got the programme about 5 years later.
Apart from that, I wouldn't pay over the odds.
I feel in 20/30 years time many programmes will be virtually worthless. It's highly visible to me that programme buying and collecting is seriously on the wane in this paperless new society!
Mind you, vinyl records have made a comeback, so who knows!!Tongue
