Well, we have a new leader for the 1st time in 8 weeks, as Herb Alpert takes the lead from nervousrec on earlier submission. This week's star was pitch63, with +13, now leading the December scores also. However, not enough to take him off the bottom, but he's now much closer to this week's biggest slipup, Ostrich, down 11 points. Next biggest gainers were andy1886 (+7) and northstandexile (+6).

Merry xmas folks, next update probably around the 28/29 Dec...

Apologies, 26 Dec update slightly delayed, might be another later tonight.

Nervous rec returns to the summit, TeacherRef leads the way this week (+8) with RRYFS slipping up most (-8)

Top score this week was err...meAngelic. The +8 (due to Leiston and Royston Town ascending) is also enough for me to take the overall lead.

Also scoring well this week were northstandexile (+7) and MCMXC (+6). Slipping up most was previous leader nervousrec, down 8 to 4th overall, behind Herb Alpert and MisterTwoU

Individual subcomp leaders are currently step 1-4 and Southern East Fork Utd; step 5 and Isthmian Herb Alpert; Northern and National MCMXC.

Another week where the top score takes the overall lead - this time Herb Alpert gaining 10 pts ahead of FarehamSeagull (+9); and Moorsider, TP and PonteCarlo (+7). Slipping up was andy1886 (-8) - but there is a consolation as he takes the National subcomp lead!

Ponte Carlo is this week's winner with a +18 haul, followed by seadogfan (+13) and Jamesie (+12). Fareham Seagull is down 8 points for the week's worst score. Herb Alpert keeps the overall lead, with paulh66 the new Southern leader...

Alas, some of Eddie's gains last week melted away - down 4, he brings up the rear in the weekly scores. Your fortunate host leads the way this week, up 11 points with andy1886 gaining 9 and slough_womble, Jamesie and northstandexile up 7 each. After a poor start, andy1886 appears to be gradually rising through the middle rankings...

My gain took me equal with Herb Alpert but he still leads on earlier submission, with a 17 point gap behind us to MisterTwoU, nervousrec and Jamesie.

Sub-comp leaders are currently:
step 1-4 - East Fork Utd; step 5 - Herb Alpert; Southern - Jamesie / paulh66; Isthmian & Northern - myself; National- andy1886

This week saw Jamesie with the biggest score, up 14 points and enough to take him into 3rd ahead of MisterTwoU. Herb Alpert and PonteCarlo were 2nd best with 11 points each, with Herb retaining the overall lead. Slipping up was slough_womble, down 7 pts.

Jamesie takes the Southern sub-comp lead outright, whilst Herb Alpert now also leads in the Isthmian...

I did an update last week which I forgot to post - covers the last 2 weeks. I was the biggest gainer Blush (you won't hear that at a WeightWatchers meeting Wink), but Herb Alpert still leads the way. At the other end, despite losing 1 point, slough_womble moved above Ostrich, who unfortunately lost 4, the fortnight's worst score.

Fareham Seagull returns to form this week, with the biggest gain, +11, pitch 63 gaining a welcome +10 (still bottom I'm afraid though) and MisterTwoU and nervousrec up 9. Slipping up is MXMXC -4.

Not much change in positions generally, though I've overtaken Herb Alpert in the overall standings. Ponte Carlo takes the lead in the National standings

Apologies, I didn't manage to get an update done last week.

https://docs.google.com/...yQ2FoU1NkY2lRc0JFNEE

Overall no change, I lead by 2 points from Herb Alpert with Jamesie 12 points further back. Pitch63 still trails but was 3rd best in February, FarehamSeagull taking that title. Best this week was MCMXC (10), northstandexile up 7 and andy1886 up 5. A few slipped up this week, with East Fork Utd down the most (-7).

Sub-comp leads are myself (step 1-4, Northern); Herb Alpert (step 5, Isthmian, National); and TeacherRef (Southern)

Some big scores this week - but all but 4 negative. Leading the way was East Fork Utd (+11, thanks mostly to a Corsham Town victory!), with the only others in positive figures slough_womble, northstandexile and Darren Lovell (all +1). Worst of the week was paulh66, down a huge 17 pointsShocked.

Overall Herb Alpert has taken over at the top on earlier submission from myself. Jamesie stays 3rd, 13 points back. Nervousrec is the new Southern leader, 2 ahead of former leader TeacherRef.

This week's highest scorer is Ostrich, up 7, but still 2nd last, I'm afraid. Slough_womble is now within touching distance though! Only 2 others made a positive score, MXMC (2) and East Fork Utd (1). Most were in the red, with nervousrec topping out at -8.

I suspect Herb Alpert's 12 point lead over Jamesie is unassailable. The sub-comps though are all pretty close, with the largest lead Ponte Carlo's step 1-4 lead over me in 2nd.

As a curious type, I'm going to do a quick reprocess of this competition, using actual league points won + adding in C/T/V games too - just to see how that would have panned out. I'll award 2 pts. for the first cup/trophy/vase round-win and double-up each successive round won for the k/o compies.

I'll post the results later.

Cheers for doing this again Jim.
I've had three goes at it. Won one, finished near the bottom last year and comfortable mid-table this season.

I haven't got time to take over from you but if someone else is willing to take it on, I'm in.

If not then all I can say is that it's been memorable. Thank you and good night.

It took a bit longer than I thought, but positions for all the competitors based on the points won in leagues by their selected teams + 20 points per round won in the Cup & Trophy + 15 points per round won in the Vase by those selected teams gives a listing:-

Herb Alpert 2273
Jamesie 2257
oftenscore6 2251
Ponte Carlo 2184
northstandexile 2147
MisterTwoU 2137
paulh66 2132
nervous rec 2102
Moorsider 2094
RRYFS 2083
T P 2081
TeacherRef 2073
MCMXC 2033
VP 2030
FarehamSeagull 2000
Darren Lovell 1985
East Fork Utd 1978
seadogfan 1952
Gray 1932
andy1886 1923
slough_womble 1851
Ostrich 1777
pitch63 1745

(NB with just the two amendments - 'forgiving' Jamesie thinking Hednesford were still SL members! Crazy & bonus of +3 pts. awarded by myself to Colne - for the unplayed Bacup match)

How does this 'league table' match with OS's? I haven't compared them myself yet, in haste to present here)

I just threw this quickly together, only needing one of OS's pages for autocalculations... it was only that time consuming as I filled everything in from scratch + had some trouble working out sensible Round-premiums for the knock-outs (I finally decided that likely best progress in Cup/Trophy normally six rounds, whilst Vase up to eight rounds. So I chose 120 as a reasonable top-premium to award for so many wins, giving 20/20/15 points per round won in each respectively.). I didn't add any 'bonus/penalty' for having replays, but one could do that quite easily.
It also occurred to me that all the teams predicted as divisional champions - could also be tracked easily in the knock-outs...
Just a thought.

Hi All,

I've not been around for a while, but am I to assume that with no new volunteer to take over from OftenScore, then the NLCL is set to die a death for those of us not in the Vienna/Kernovian PL.......?

Would be a shame......

Kernovian has started up a new game which is quite similar to oftenscore's game - and there's prizes (with conditions)!

Look for the thread with the smiley-face that says 'new game' in the title.

It's a BIG job to enter (Try 134 predictions in one sittingWink), but once entry is in you can kick-back and wait for the season to end.
