For Editors: slow loading Admin..... Quote | Reply or Reply Privately

I'm aware that there is a problem with the slow loading of the Fixtures / Results page when you are logged in as an Editor. In fact the whole system is slow, sometimes more than others.

FDC are aware of this problem and it WILL be fixed, unfortunately I am not sure exactly when as Database Chris who wrote the software is on holiday.

In the meantime all we can do is not to fight it.... if you find your Editors admin is taking more than a minute to load then just forget it. Log off and try it later. Don't enter more than a couple of weeks worth of fixtures in advance.

I know this problem is annoying but it will get sorted, in the meantime please try and work with it and thanks for your patience.

Steve

Whilst I am experiencing this problem, not finding it too great as when I'm on the computer I've generally got other things to do - for what it's worth, it always seems to catch up, so I just let it be and get on with another task.

Tried logging in about six times this evening and am just ending up with a blank screen after going through the usual procedure. It usually takes a while but I know thats normal at the moment. Anyone else having problems? I can get into the site to read its just logging in for editing.

I've been advised that due to holidays the problems in accessing the site will not be fixed until the middle of next week.

It's not good but I'm afraid we will just have to soldier on as best we can until then Unimpressed

Most of the slow loading problems have been fixed. Certainly the access problems that occurred the first weekend did not appear this weekend past and all Editors were able to get in and update their leagues. To you guys I just want to say THANKS! The site is working out just as I imagined and on this first big weekend everything seems to have run smoothly.

Access still isn't perfect for Editors. If you run one league it's not a problem, your admin should load instantly. If you run four or five leagues it should be near enough the same. After that it seems to start to deteriorate but I'm not really sure what the cut off point is.

This coming week I am having a server upgrade. Downtime will be minimal. I don't know exactly what impact this will have on performance. I know it will be good, I'm just not sure how good.

What I would suggest is that any Editors still having a performance issue with their admin after next weekend (by that I mean taking REGULARLY more than 20 seconds to load) please let me know.

Cheers... Steve
