Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) 2011-12 Can't Post or Reply Privately

Premier Division 14 teams - no change

Abbey (promoted from Division 1)
AFC Bourne
Chiddingfold
Cranleigh (promoted from Division 1)
Merrow
Milford & Witley
Royal Holloway Old Boys
Shottermill & Haslemere
Tongham (voluntary relegation from Surrey Elite)
Unis Old Boys (promoted from Division 1)
University of Surrey
Worplesdon Phoenix
Yateley
Yateley Green

Division 1 13 teams (no change)

AFC Leatherhead (new team)
AFC Spelthorne Sports
Chobham Burymead (change of name for Burymead)
Elm Grove Seniors (new team)
Ewhurst
Godalming & Farncombe Athletic
Guildford City Weysiders (relegated from Premier Division)
Knaphill Athletic (promoted from Guildford & Woking Alliance)
Lightwater United
Old Salesians (Farnborough)
Pyrford (relegated from Premier Division)
Shalford
Woking & Horsell

Teams leaving the league.
Abbey Rangers (promoted to Surrey Elite)
AFC Bedfont Green (wherabouts unknown but they're somewhere!)
Hammer United (relegated and transferred to West Sussex League)
Wrecclesham (transferred to Aldershot & District League)

I assume AFC Leatherhead are an adult side for their youth section to progress into as they're listed as playing at River Lane.
Elm Grove Seniors are a new? / reformed? / demerged? side. Hersham Elm Grove in the Surrey Elite have disbanded due to the merger not working out so it looks like Elm Grove have resurrected their old name although their youth section had continued to use the name.
Chobham Burymead have taken over the lease of Chobham FC's old ground after Chobham were allegedly kicked off it. They've changed their name to reflect this and expect to have some ex-Chobham players in their side but it is not a merger apparently.

Just read on the AFC Bedfont Green website that the teams in the SCIL (W) have folded but their teams in the Guildford & Woking Alliance are still going.

Cranleigh got promoted! Brilliant! About time that club had a change in fortune. They were a very friendly approachable club in the Combined Counties, and who could forget Charlie the gateman / programme seller with his country-style hat? Their ground (and the size of the village as well) deserve a team of higher standing. Hope it's the start of a resurgence.

Cranleigh seem to be doing alright as a club. They entered an under 18 side into the Southern Youth League two seasons ago and those players are now filtering through to the reserves and first team so they should cope alright with the step up. After all, some of our U18s from the SYL are playing step 5 football so step 8 shouldn't be too much of a struggle for Cranleigh and they've got the ground to get back up to CCL1 at least.

Guildford City Weysiders have withdrawn.

From their website:

The club has written to the Surrey Intermediate League saying that it is withdrawing its two teams from the League.
The letter said: "Unfortunately it has become evident that we cannot field two sides and hence we have decided to withdraw."
The withdrawal ends 30-year membership of the League which began in 1982.
The team in the Guildford & Woking Alliance now becomes the club's first team.
The club is also looking at the possibility of entering a second team into the Guildford & Woking Alliance.
