How does Sky justify the hundreds, if not, thousands, of pounds it charges pubs, what is the difference between the Sky box in my house and the Sky box in the boozer, I pay 50 notes or so a month, the landlord pays hundreds

Is that just a way for Murdoch to get his mitts on a pubs profits?

I presume that Sky would argue that pubs install Sky in order to attract extra business, and as a business themselves should be entitled to a portion of the increased takings resulting.

Pubs, potentially, take away many individual Sky subscribers, so it's therefore not a single subscription, but one that covers however many people are pub regulars. Or something like that...

Could we see cinemas potentially showing live football?

They do - in Ipswich the World Cup final was live (and I think maybe in 3D) at the town's main cinema complex.

So I guess it depends on how many punters can get inside as to what charged, could the Landlord not subscribe for his gaff above the boozer and just run a Sky TV to tv in the bar

Some do. Until they get caught.
Hundreds of people a year get fined for doing it and it's a hefty fine - 13,280 in this case:-

The business prices are worked out by taking your rateable value (less the part of that value that's attributed to outdoor sports use) minus a deduction if more than 30% of your income is from food multiplied by the price in pence of the package you want.

The pub owner has won before the ECJ, but the Premier League are trying to put a positive spin on it.

....

She took her fight for the right to use the cheaper provider to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) which ruled in October 2011 that having an exclusive system was "contrary to EU law".
The High Court in London on Friday ruled that Karen Murphy's appeal over using the decoder to bypass controls over match screening must be allowed.
But a judge made clear that the other complex issues regarding the wider legality of screening matches would have to be decided "at a later date".
....
The High Court had originally sent the case to the European courts for advice on numerous points of law.
The ECJ said last autumn that national laws that prohibit the import, sale or use of foreign decoder cards were contrary to the freedom to provide services.
The European judges also said the Premier League could not claim copyright over Premier League matches as they could not be considered to be an author's own "intellectual creation" and, therefore, to be "works" for the purposes of EU copyright law.
But it did offer some comfort for the Premier League, which receives vast sums through its exclusive broadcasting deals with Sky and ESPN.

Which is:

The European court said that while live matches were not protected by copyright, any surrounding media, such as any opening video sequence, the Premier League anthem, pre-recorded films showing highlights of recent Premier League matches and various graphics, were "works" protected by copyright.
To use any of these extra parts associated for a broadcast, a pub would need the permission of the Premier League.

Scant comfort.

If I'm reading the situation correctly it means these matches can only be shown using a cheaper system if someone else sets their cameras up inside the grounds and produces their own programme. That's not going to happen is it?

No, that refers to the little bits they add in, at the start, at half time and at the end. The live broadcast of the game itself is not copyrightable.
