Bristol Local Leagues Can't Post or Reply Privately

Found these Club Directories for the 2010/11 Bristol Leagues whilst researching Lawrence Rovers FC. Apologies if they have already been posted elsewhere.

Bristol Premier Combination http://resources.thefa.com/...gue6582128/17349.doc
Bristol & District League http://resources.thefa.com/...gue1832893/15335.doc

I've always been a little confused about the set up of Bristol local football. There is also a Bristol & Avon Combination, which I suspect is below even Division 6 of the District League, and seems to identify its season as "Autumn".

Rules of Groundhopping:

Rule 1 - There are no rules
Rule 2 - See rule 1.....

There's a well organised hierarchy in Gloucestershire.

At the top is the Gloucestershire County League.

This is fed by 3 leagues with 2 divisions each of intermediate standard: Gloucestershire Northern, Bristol Premier Combination and Bristol & Suburban League.

These are all fed by a number of junior leagues:
Gloucestershire Northern (catchment area also includes some teams from Worcestershire FA): Cheltenham Association, North Gloucestershire, Stroud & D and Cirencester & D (although top teams of this league have to transfer to one of other 3 leagues to gain promotion).
Bristol Premier Combination: Bristol & District (which in turn is fed by Bristol & Avon Combination and Bristol Downs Leagues).
Bristol & Suburban: Also has 5 junior level divisions which feed into the 2 premier divisions at intermediate level.

I believe the Bristol Downs League is still limited to playing on the Downs. Any club wishing to progress upwards from this league has to also secure an alternative home base to be promoted.

The Cirencester League also feeds the Wilts Co as a number of clubs are Wilts F.A. In recent years Ashton Keynes, C.H.Q United, Minety have all played in the Ciren League and the Wilts Co.

All clubs have to play matches on the downs which means it is ver rare for clubs to progress from the downs league into the other Bristol leagues. Some of the clubs who play in Division One are very good sides and the likes of Sneyd Park and Torpedo who came first and second this season, are quite easily better than some teams playing in the bottom divisons of the other Bristol leagues, they just chose to remian playing on the downs and remian big fish in a small pond.
