Just to advise I am having serious problems with my internet connection tonight (typical Mad) and have had to go to my local weatherspoons to type this.
I will almost certainly not be able to answer any more questions if there are any prior to midnight-so it will have to be guesses only for those that have not asked a question which should not pose a problem.

I hope to get back on line by tomorrow a.m when I am sure that you will have the correct answer.
I would also advise you all to all think about what has been revealed in the answers to questions so far before submitting your guess as there will only be one correct answer. There is a possibility still that if you are all guessing together you may choose the same player and the correct answer to the players name will not be revealed.

edit -If I can get on line by 12.01 I will do so but it looks unlikely at the moment.

Hah, you think you will win, but since Sweden is one hour east of you I can make my next guess at 23:01 (or even 23:00!)!!!
Or can't I? (According to the rules, it's the time zone of the poster that counts. But to be honest, I would think 00:00 UK Time would be fairer.)

No the answer was not Mbulelu Mabizea this has narrowed it down even more !
It could have been him and there was a bit of trivia in wikki about him being youngest team national captain but I said the trivia was not in wiki

Congratulations we have a winner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The player indeed is the Cameroon international, Salomon Olembe who in spite of being only 29 years of age has played in 2 world cup finals tournaments and has had brief spells at Premiership clubs Leeds and Wigan. He is now playing for Turkish club Kayserispor.
I chose this player due to the interesting bit of trivia found on the FA website that he was at the time and probably still is, the youngest ever International footballer to play at the old/new Wembley in a senior international match. He achieved this whilst playing for for Cameroon v England in 1997 in a friendly international at just 16 years, 342 days old..
