Sites like the one Tony created are exactly what is good about the internet and its ability to enthuse and connect people. In years to come when they write a history of the internet, Tony's site will be an example of the wonders of its early days and a blueprint for many other sites.

Tony may be gone but his legacy will be around forever.

I have accessed Tony's site for a few years now, and although I did not become a registered poster until very recently, this site was always the place to come for updates, standings, banter, more so than most other football sites. Comprehensive is an understatement of the site's content.

Also followed Tony's own postings about his illness from the start, hoping that the treatment would have paid dividends, but quietly realising that an earlier demise was always possible, even likely.

I didn't know Tony, but I was always amazed that 1 person - though presumably supported by an army of like-minded individuals feeding him reliable stats from all about - could manage to do all of this stuff, and in a timely manner. I have been an official statto and a league secretary in my time, so I had an inkling of the workload, and handling 2 divisions was more than enough for me. Tony was a colossus and he will be sorely missed. Those of you hoping to follow in his footsteps on this site, to continue Tony's good works, have a hard act to repeat.

My condolences to his family & friends.

I had a couple of chats with Tony after his diagnosis and found his concerns were more for his family than for himself.

My heartfelt condolences go out to all the family at the loss of a husband and father.

RIP Tony

A true jewel in the non-league crown, and a great loss to the game.

Rest in Peace, Tony. My thoughts are with your family and friends.

Sorry not to have marked the anniversary on the correct date but just a note to remember our founder.

Two years have now passed since Tony's sad passing.Still greatly missed.
