The oldest living Mansfield Town player,
Tom Stimpson,passed away on sunday
(Feb 8th) aged 101.
Stanton Hill man, Stimpson, a school
teacher by profession, joined Mansfield
from Sutton Colliery FC in the 1929-30
season when Mansfield were playing in
the Midland League.
He was a wing half back and made 17
appearances for Mansfield Town.
A service will be held at All Saints Church,
Stanton Hill at 1.30 on Friday followed by
cremation at Mansfield at 2.30.
