Chris Sendall's excellent website has all the tables you are asking for (except for 1955-56) at his website :

http://www.nonleaguetables.co.uk/cgi-bin/lt.cgi

and type in Central Alliance in the search box.

If anyone else has the 55-56 table, I would be most interested as it would fill the gap and I would then be able to add the league to the list of those covered in the FCHD. The Leicestershire Football History website (Another superb point of reference) has the positions (http://www.leicsfootball.co.uk/table-ca-d1-1955.html) but not a proper league table.

Hi, attached is a scan of the 1955/56 season tables. (Note to self, must spend more time updating website !!! :-) )

Would be interested to know what the latest tables are that you have for the Central Alliance since the information I have on it gets a bit thin on the ground from the mid 1970's to 1984 (which i think was the final season)

Cheers,
Tony

Re: [Richard Rundle] Central Alliance [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Many thanks Richard & Tony,

Excellent news on 1955/56. Unfortunately the tables are incomplete for the other years on the website. I am particularly interested in Div 1 South for 1959/60.

My information on the Central Alliance also seems to run out mid 70's, it seems that most Central Alliance clubs joined the East Midlands Regional League in 67/68 therefore the importance of the Central Alliance appears to have diminished.

Which brings me on to the East Midlands Regional League. On checking I do not have the tables for 1975/76, 1977/78 to 1980/81 and 1982/83, if anyone can help I would be grateful.

Many thanks

Afarifa

Re: [Afarifa] Central Alliance [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Hi, here is the table for 1959/60. I have quite a few old Notts Evening Post football annuals up to 1974 so if there are any more tables you need let me know and I'll post scans here.

The last Central Alliance table I have is from 1981/82 but I'm pretty sure that the Central Alliance merged with the East Midlands Regional League to form the Midlands Regional Alliance in 1985/86 (can anyone from the Derby area confirm this ? I'm sure I read it somewhere !).

I have a league table from 1st May 1976 from the Derby Evening Telegraph that contains the following tables, there are still a couple of games left to play but it was the last one I could find when I visited the Derby Records office last year (attached as an excel sheet since it looked rubbish when I started typing it in here).

Would be interested in the tables that you do have to try and get a complete picture of these two leagues.

One table that seems to be missing is that for the 1949/50 season there was a second division since Midland Woodworkers were relegated to this and I found reports of their matches for that season when I was researching some information from the Melton Times for that year.

Cheers,
Tony

Re: [burkeyt] Central Alliance [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

The East Midlands Regional League began in 1967-68.
But this was only the Central Alliance in another name.
With the same committee running both leagues.
The Central Alliance was in fact now only a title,
that was given to the lower division/s of the EMRL.
With the EMRL being the higher status of the two.
So the following year (68-69)the Central Alliance
became the 3rd division of the EMRL.
I'm also missing some of the tables in the 70's and 80's.
But the EMRL became the Midlands Regional League in
the early 80's, and was given it's latest name Midlands
Regional Alliance, i believe, in 2001-02.
I doubt there was a 2nd division in the 40's.
I'd be interested in knowing who the teams where in the
40's fixtures.

Central Alliance & East Midlands Leagues [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

With the attachments now removed to free up space on some of the older threads, I was wondering if anyone could send me any final tables for any of the following -

Central Alliance

Division 1 South - 1957/58, 1958/59 & 1959/60
Division 2 - 1955/56, 1957/58 & 1958/59
Division 1 - 1961/62 to 1966/67
Single Division - 1968/69 to 1977/78

East Midlands League

Premier Division 1975/76 to 1980/81, 1982/83 & 1984/85
Division 1 - 1968/69 to 1984/85

Any help greatly appreciated.

Would love any results people may have from the central alliance, I've been adding a few from Grantham reserves and Ilkeston town, but Plenty of gaps to be filled in

I'm currently researching the history of Teversal FC and am just coming up to the time they had a four season venture into the Central Alliance (late 40's/early 50's). They then dropped back into the more local Sutton & Skegby League for a decade, then back into the CA in the early 60's.
I'll keep an eye out for any other results and try and drop them into a results matrix.

I'm working on a little statistical project and wonder if anyone could send me a copy of the Central Alliance final tables for 1957-58.
