Eircom League Can't Post or Reply Privately

Who became the first League of Ireland player for many a long day to score an international goal during the weekend's world cup qualifiers.

And who was the previous LOI player to score a goal at international level.

Kalonas (quite a common Dublin name these days) of Bohemians is correct for the first part

Not Ray Treacy for number 2 however........................

I thought I might have been someone who I knew called Franky but I see he never actually played in the full international side though he did score twice in old firm games for Celtic. I will go for Jimmy Dunne ?.

Correction m'lud. Ray Treacy was indeed the previous player from the League of Ireland when as a Shamrock Rovers player, he scored twice in a 4-2 win against Turkey in 1978.

Prior to that I believe it was the flamboyant (well he was in the LOI) Mick Leech also of the Hoops who netted in the Mini World Cup in 1972. I still believe Brendan Bradley should have been playing however.................
