Help needed on OLD football clubs Can't Post or Reply Privately

I am currently writing a book on the history of Sheffield Wednesday (as well as Kiveton Park...), and have writing a section on Wednesday's opponents through the years. I am struggling for info on a lot of old clubs, and was wondering if anyone could help out. Cheers

Crusaders
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), grounds used (they played Wednesday at Leyton Cricket Club, but that's as much as I know), shirt colour

Grimsby Town
Needed - Have they ever played in Grimsby? Is Abbey Park or Lovet Street in Grimsby?

Halliwell
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), grounds used, shirt colour

Lockwood Brothers
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), shirt colour

Long Eaton Rangers
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), shirt colour

Loughborough
Needed - previous names (if any)

Notts Rangers
Needed - shirt colour

Providence (Sheffield)
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), grounds used, shirt colour

Spilsby
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), grounds used, shirt colour

Staveley (The original club, not Welfare, Town or Miners Welfare etc...)
Needed - foundation date, previous names (if any), shirt colour

If anyone can help me on any of the clubs, it'd be much appreciated.

Will have to look into this a bit, don't forget they played at Clee Park early on as well, although I cant remember if its Clee Park or Abbey Park which is now 'People's Park'

Kivo,

I have a book on the history of Loughborough Athletic and Football Club 1886-1900 and there is no reference to an alternative name except their nickname 'The Luffs'.

Regards

Dave

Hi Kivo

I will contact Dave Kirby who has been with Loughborough FC for years and has written many books about football in Loughborough. In his programme he used to do, he used to have a piece about history each issue. I will contact him and if ok, I will PM you with his details. I'm sure he can be of help.

It's also good to see that Kiveton have entered a Reserve team in to our League this coming season, I come down to Kiveton every year and ask to meet you, but no one knows who you are, or Paul arro dont lol

Haha I'm a master at disguise! I'm a fan really, only know a few of the players. I'm a Sheffield Wednesday fan more than anything, so i'll only pop down to Hard Lane if Wednesday are away.

The Loughborough info would be a big help anyway!
