Keen to get on with it this year, maybe?

We don't normally see this draw appear until well into the playing season.

First round to be played in October. I suspect they will use the date normally set aside for the Fife and Lothians ties, which will now be relegated to later in the season.

In addition, although I don't think a final decision has been taken yet, the plan is to ditch one local cup from each of Tayside, Fife and Lothians. That will leave just one local cup in each area, plus the inter-districts (GA, Fife and L, Redwood L), the Sectional League Cups and the East of Scotland.

Clubs are anxious to avoid fixture pile-ups and also keen to have the season finished by the end of May. Ideally the Leagues would be completed by mid May with just the final stages of the Cups after that. This would allow players and officials to plan holidays, clubs to work on their pitches and so on.
