Shortest Match you have ever seen on your Ground Visi or Reply Privately

I have been looking around to see if there was any mention of this but nothing, so am opening up another interesting subject after my experience on Saturday afternoon.
I went to the First Division Cup-Tie at Garstang, north of Preston, for Garstang FC v FC Oswestry Town and the match was abandoned after THREE MINUTES as an FC Oswestry Town player, No.10 Callum Leigh incurred a horrendous injury, a suspect broken leg. When the club phoned the Ambulance Service, they received strict instructions that the player must not be moved from the spot on the pitch where the incident happened until the ambulance arrived and the paramedics has examined the player before stretchering him to the ambulance. The ambulance arrived just on 4pm when if the problem had arisen the 2nd half would have been starting. Apparently as the injury was not considered an emergency, that was why there was the delay in the arrival of the ambulance. I have never experienced any such happening in all my previous 474 ground visits, in fact not even supporting Man City from 1950 to 1982, and Wigan from 1982 to now. The problem for the visitors is that they will have to make the repeat 200 mile round journey from the Welsh border again for the rearranged date next Saturday.

My notes show that at the Old Spotted Dog a couple of years ago, a Southend Manor player broke his leg after 6 minutes against Hackney Wick (we all heard the break too) and the game was abandoned at the point where the 2nd half should have been starting 2045hrs

I wasn't there for the Estonia farce. Unfortunately I was at Johnstone Burgh.

Surprised Scotland managed not to concede in Estonia, to be honest.

I had an abandonment at Galazia Maddalonesi in Italy about 3 years ago - 3 mins and 20 seconds is all it took for a dry dirt pitch to become a swimming pool. Still counted it. Shoot me.

My record is 9 abandonments in 4,051 matches but only one before HT - Maltby v Handsworth (11 mins, fog - it should either never have started or been continued, as it was very foggy at KO but certainly no worse when it was stopped).

East Preston vs Oakwood a few years back in the Peter Bentley Cup. Head injury after about 10 minutes. Had to abandon it because no ambulances were nearby and the floodlights had to be switched off by 10:30pm.

Does a minus figure count ?.
Went to Wormley Rovers v Biggleswade United (fa vase 2018/19) on a friday night, paid my admission, went for a drink in the clubhouse and about kick off time the match was called off due to a serious injury in warm up.
They were refunding entrance fees back at the gate but i told them to keep my entrance money.
Got to go back sometime, as was a new ground which under any rules you can't count (or maybe ????????).

I've seen a match postponed at 3:06.

Annoyingly, it was the one and only time I convinced my then housemate to come and try out some non-league football with me.

Not sure why this one ever started. Abandonment happened when an unfortunate player slid out of control into one of the dugouts, IIRC.

Mine was earlier this year. Windsor v Flackwell Heath in Hellenic Premier on Tuesday 5 March. Floodlight failure after 9 minutes. After numerous attempts to restart them it was abandoned at roughly when half time should have been.

If those are all games you attended I think we had better avoid watching games with you. In 40 or so years of watching mostly non-league football my only abandoned game was at Filbert Street in the early 80's when I think Southampton were visiting Leicester. Lasted around 15 minutes before a cloudburst. Made famous at the time by Steve Lynex doing the front crawl when he had slipped over in the rain.

They had handed out vouchers for a England U23 game earlier that season at Filbert Street beforehand because of fog. The game wasn't abandoned but many including myself used said voucher to get in for the rearranged Southampton game.

They were Keith , 25 abandoned games in 60 years of watching ain't too bad is it ?

7 of those the result stood, Austria 'B', Rayners Lane, Dalry , Mochdre , O/Survey , Penyfford & Port Authority so that leaves 18 games with no ground visit meaning a revisit . Don't worry Klagenfurt has been ticked properly.

So 18 not counted for a ground visit or 1 game abandoned for every 500 visited , no idea whether that's good / bad / normal. Anybody else got silly figures to hand , over to you Leo.

To add to that also had to revisit Plymouth Command in season 97/98 as the sec of the league annulled the game I was at because of a ringer.

Been watching football for 40+ years and can genuinely only remember two abandonments in all that time, both in the last few seasons...

Chard Town v Oldland Abbotonians at Zembard Lane was called off after nine minutes after Sam Abrahams, a young Oldland player, broke his leg in two places. Ambulance turned up at 4pm & he ended up going to Musgrove Park Hospital with me in the car behind (I was secretary and no one else wanted the job!).

Bristol Telephones v Oldland Abbotonians was abandoned on six minutes when the floodlights failed, not enough diesel in the generator.
