Thanks for the info about the grounds..... and congratulations on nabbing a GOALLLLL!!!!!
It is indeed the unfortunate Mr Walters junior, a fine prospect by all accounts but whose tragic death resulted in the decision of his two brothers - England's two full backs at the time - to immediately retire from the game.
Came across this story while browsing through the superb historical featured on Epsom & Ewell's website, with all three brothers also playing regularly at the time for E&E's early predecessors, Ewell FC. Indeed, Arthur and Hugh scored Ewell's goals in the first ever match at E&E's much-missed West Street ground on November 1, 1890, just weeks before Hugh's death.
Incidentally, the Casuals v St Bartholomews match was played at Wormwood Scrubs so would've been Casuals' home game.
Well played Michael, over to you.
In Rob Cavallini's excellent history, A Casual Affair, it's listed as a home game and a friendly. In total, there are 26 different home venues listed for the Casuals during their existence.
Rob's three books on Corinthian, Casuals and Corinthian-Casuals are highly recommended.
