And a new shirt sponsor too. What could possibly go wrong?

Bangor must be seriously insane to even consider involving this crook.
And likewise, it's yet another example of the ineptitude of the FAW if Vaughan's involvement is allowed to proceed in any way at all.

Indeed, though it's hard to know what the FAW can do. Not sure they can ban a sponsor even though, as is often seen, sponsors can have great influence over executive decisions and the strategic direction of a club. Perhaps even controlling influence, though proving that is difficult. Which might explain a lot in this case.

To be fair, he has been cropped out of the more recent versions of the publicity photo. And the new chairman has said the club might not accept his sponsorship as they're also in discussions with a big developer who is talking about offering a much bigger deal.

Nothing to be worried about here.

Re: [paulh66] Bangor City takeover (..and Mr S Vaughan) or Reply Privately

As a Bangor fan/supporter, I find it hard to understand what they are hoping to achieve.
The club IS bankrupt only managing to exist from one month to the other, it wouldn't have come as any surprise to us the supporters if the Club had gone into administration before the start of this coming season.....it was that bad, the overheads at our new ground was/is crippling the Club.

We cant really blame the previous board for abandoning their post, they did their best in difficult circumstances.....it was a noose around their necks and I'm sure they were pleased when someone took an interest and they could jump ship.

The ground and the 3g pitch assets belong the Council so cant see them getting their hands on it........as for us supporters, its wonderful watching money being spent on new players, especially after a number of dismal seasons fighting off relegation....................even if it may end in tears at the end of the season.

Poor Nev. A nice man. However, his contract had a one year rolling agreement so he should pocket £55,000. Also he should get to keep his £25,000 car - again as agreed and stated in his rolling contract.

I wonder if Mr Vaughan will pay up?

That's the same Stephen Vaughan Jnr who was jailed for 15 months just last March (his second conviction, incidentally) http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/...ghan-jailed-11120365.
Presumably he's out? And legitimately so?! But obviously no fit and proper testing in Welsh football.

Not sure as "Director of Football" is anything other than a title. Pretty sure it doesn't involve actually being a director of the company which means he in theory has no control over the running of the business. Therefore I assume the "fit and proper person's test" doesn't apply.

The new manager is Ian Dawes -

He used to manage Floriana in Malta. No prizes for guessing who the chairman was at the time. Dawes is basically a Vaughan puppet.

His Wiki page is 10 years out of date, but he's managed a top division club in a European league, so that's a gold star for him. The fact that it was in Malta at the time when the Vaughans were charge over there is not important, surely?

32 year old ex youth coach at Shrewsbury. More detail of his background is here:
http://www.dailypost.co.uk/...new-manager-12227199

Eye-catching quote:
"Dawes is looking forward to working with City’s new director of football, former Liverpool player Stephen Vaughan Jnr.
“I’ve known Stephen for a long time and we’ve got a similar mindset not just on the pitch but off it as well and have similar standards, it will be good to work close with him.”"

Signed for Caernarfon Town by 'manager' Dave Rowe in July 2008 from Kidsgrove Athletic. He made 11+5 appearances in the Welsh Premier and the club was relegated at the end of the season.

Andy Legg - over 600 Football League appearances, 6 caps, managed a team that has won the Welsh Premier, holds a UEFA A licence. Ian Dawes - played for Kidsgrove and Caernarfon, managed in Malta. Which one would be the better manager! Sly

Re: [Andy D] Bangor City takeover (..and Mr S Vaughan) or Reply Privately

Press release posted on website earlier today.

"On Monday morning Bangor City Football Club was issued with a £16,000 demand for electricity. The electric has been used by Nantporth CIC and Bangor City Football Club. This led to its disconnection.

We understand Nantporth CIC are in the process of changing over to a different supplier for the 3G pitch floodlights which makes up a majority portion of the overall bill. This has not happened as yet. However, unjustly the bill is in the name of Bangor City Football Club.

This was followed by a water rates demand of £9,000 the same day which has now also been turned off. The Football Club is responsible to pay this bill.

Negotiations are in place to get both bills settled and brought up to date as soon as possible.

We are still waiting on funds being released from the FAW which has also hindered our cashflow.

Bangor City's creditors list is approximately £80,000 in its entirety. This includes bringing players and staff wages up to date as well as paying compensation to our former groundsman.

The club has been in negotiations with investors and sponsors for the past two months and are very close to securing a new stadium sponsor.

The Football Club will be requesting its shareholders to assist with the current financial situation and the club endeavours to get ready for Saturday's league fixture v Gresford FC."

There appear to be a lot of concerned fans on Twitter.

So Vaughan Junior back to save the club from Vaughan Senior.
More seriously how can the HGA League and FAW allow this shambles to continue. Bangor cannot play at home and supposedly got an unqualified referree to get the game called off yesterday despite almost all other local teams playing and this was one of the best pitches in Wales. Seems other clubs will not lend them their ground anymore. Airbus game called off next Tuesday as no floodlights.
Time Bangor were kicked out of the league or at least deducted points.
Not sure would be better in England but Vaughans should not have been allowed to acquire Bangor in 2016 by the FAW and they should intervene now. Plight of Bangor, arguably the biggest club in domestic football, is another slight on the FAW and seems as with Barry, history repeating itself.

Until recently looked like the fan boycott was working but seems Vaughans are now playing the Lovering game and slowly destroying a club and FAW do nothing about it.

The Daily Post has reported that Bangor have been hit with a transfer ban and that the FAW has confirmed that a “disciplinary investigation is currently on going regarding other matters”, which are the subject of additional investigations regarding matters that “cannot be stated at this time”: https://www.dailypost.co.uk/...it-transfer-16287763

Heading towards the endgame maybe...hopefully.

Is there a way to ban the Vaughan family from any further involvement in any football club anywhere???
It always turns out disastrous wherever they go.

42 point deduction dished out by FAW which would relegate them from tier 2.

Now hit with a 42 points deduction by the FAW for inter alia - not paying a contracted player, not lodging the contract with the FAW, signing a contract player outside the transfer window, playing two ineligible players etc. I could go on but the charge sheet is a lengthy one. If they fail to win their appeal they will finish bottom of the Cymru Alliance and be relegated to the third tier. I recall Vaughan junior's statement of 4 March in which he said he had left his role in Malta and had come back "to help save the club". Hmmm.

Bangor City's statement in response.....

"In light of the findings of the recent case, FAW vs. Bangor City FC, the FAW has issued a points deduction to the club as a result of players being paid who are registered as non-contract players that do not have a written contract at FAW.
This issue will send shockwaves through the football community as many clubs throughout Wales pay players who are registered as non-contract and who are not on professional contracts.
In the opinion of the FAW, players who sign standard non-contract forms should NOT be paid apart from expenses and then only if valid receipts are submitted.
All registration rules have been adhered to and the decision is based on 'balance of probability' rather than adhering to their own rules and regulations.
All forms signed have been submitted correctly and therefore, no blame can be attributed to any individuals who have been involved with the club.
The punishment that has been issued is severely harsh and not in keeping with previous punishments for similar issues.
This decision will be appealed - not just in the interests of Bangor City but for every other club within Welsh football who currently are doing the same thing."

Well Bangor's response seems to be yes we did it but so do others.

Wouldn't give them much hope in any appeal in that case.
Well done to the FAW in taking no nonsense from the Vaughans and the way they flaunt any rule they care to.

Agreed, but whatever our feelings might be about those currently in control at Bangor, they do make a fair point. The FAW do pick and choose the rules they enforce.
If what BCFC have been doing is as widespread as they suggest, it should be easy to prove and then the onus will be on the FAW to go after everybody who is guilty.

If the FAW run things in such a slapdash manner as has been mentioned on here many times in the past then maybe it should be clubs /people going after them!

Bangor - currently slated to participate in tier 3 football next season - have appointed a director of football. The latest in the saga that keeps on giving. I can't be bothered to name him. He wont be there long enough to leave a footprint in the sands of time. Sly

Local press reporting that Bangor City's appeal to the FAW against the 42 point deduction will take place on June 18.

Meanwhile the breakaway fan-owned club have unveiled their new name and badge - Bangor 1876 (https://twitter.com/...757927475523585?s=21). Local press reporting that they'll find out their league placing on June 16.

An interesting few days coming up for the FAW!

I'm told Bangor 1876 will find out on the 19th, but hoping for a tier 3 starting division, which could make for an interesting pair of fixtures, subject to points deduction appeal, paying bills etc.

The appeal hearing into Bangor City's 42 point deduction has today nullified the original decision and ordered a rehearing into the case: http://www.bangorcityfc.co.uk/...hearing-2436486.html

In separate news, City collected the fair play award at the league's AGM on Saturday! Awkward..

Turns out Bangor City's statement is incorrect Crazy. The FAW have stated the appeal was merely adjourned until June 24 after City produced fresh information which requires further consideration by the appeals body: https://www.faw.cymru/...ring-bangor-city-fc/

I've not seen that anywhere, but I would say that is the most likely. There is a railed off grass pitch, and a new 3G cage is currently under construction, so they could use either or both of those.

Bangor 1876 have been put in the Gwynedd League (Tier 5). Was always goiung to be that or Anglesey League and cannot believe some above thought they would jump over long established clubs and be in Tier 3. Lucky to be in Gwynedd League.

That is very true. They have even thanked FAW for putting them in Gwynedd League when that league has nothing to do with FAW. FAW wouldn't put them any higher and even Gwynedd League will upset some clubs.

... and of course any new club starting in the South Wales or Gwent FA areas would never be able to start above Tier 8. Aberbargoed Town who have won their Tier 8 League (North Gwent) for the last two seasons are still not allowed to be promoted to Tier 7 (Gwent County 3), as they are too young!

Yes quite a difference between the south and the north. Anglesey and Gwynedd leagues at Tier 6 and 5 get a dozen teams at most. At Tier 4 in Welsh Alliance, Welsh National League and Mid Wales they often struggle to get 16 teams and in a few seasons even Tier 3 has struggled to get 16 teams.
The new licensing in Wales will just mean in north you have a dozen or so teams that could be in WP and compete in Tier 2. Quite a contrast with the south.

Bangor City's 42 point deduction has been halved to 21 points on appeal - just enough for them to survive at step 2 on goal difference...http://www.bangorcityfc.co.uk/...stay-up-2438195.html. Holywell are instead relegated to step 3.

A very odd situation where the club's case was presented by a man who had been suspended from football by the FAW. Player A's contract was found to date from 1 January 2019 not November 2018. Why was the contract not copied to the FAW as required by rule? I assume that the panel - unnamed - heard evidence from the official who signed the contract, and the player, and were satisfied as to the veracity of their evidence and concluded that the January 2019 contract was indeed genuine and valid? That being the case the points deduction was for seven matches which entirely coincidentally amounted to 21 points and so was sufficient to see the club remain in tier two and relegate Holywell.

Hmmm. Big Hmmm.
So can Holywell now put in any appeal on this? No points deducted for the act of failing to submit a contract? And weren't there a list of offences, not just one player playing matches without being registered?
Anyway, all being well, if Bangor DO start in still in Cymru Alliance, hopefully they will find very few Bangor supporters watching them.

Club now have a charge to answer of use of an ineligible player last season. I have no idea of the opposition and more importantly the result of the game but if proven in a game that they won then the implications could be serious.

And, just before that news broke, Bangor announced that they're appealing against the remaining 21 point ban "to clear the name of the club."

Also announced today that Stephen Vaughan Junior has been appointed manager. Presumably he, as chairman, made the appointment. The article announcing the appointment on the club website induces the usual mix of nausea and laughter: http://www.bangorcityfc.co.uk/...manager-2441366.html

They are not "playing". The club has claimed to have signed them but the small print says that transfers are 'subject to approval from the Football Association of Wales' which is a bit awkward seeing that there is a transfer ban on the club.

I assume they're all being recruited by the Director of Football appointed by Bangor in May. He's an Italian who worked with Mosta FC in Malta when Vaughan got involved with them a few years ago. One can only speculate on the full story behind all this..
