Pay What You Want - at Sutton United Saturday 7 March or Reply Privately

Sutton United v Hayes & Yeading on 7 March will be a "Pay What You Want" match, with Tim Vine in attendance.

Hopefully it will be more successful than the Free ladies day Blush

Is he doing the pre-match entertainment (or half-time show a la Superbowl)? Or do you just get to stand next to him?

He came on as a mascot last year Crazy, and fooled around on the pitch before the game.

If you are lucky/not luck you could sit/stand next to him Wink

Wonder how season ticket holders feel about these offers being put on by the club.

If the club want to move forward we need to get more attending games. As a season ticket holder I'm happy to see the club being proactive. I have never seen any negative feedback on the Sutton forum regarding freebies.

In my opinion one of the funniest comedians around.

Brother of Jeremy, and star of the successful (though it doesn't do it for me) TV show "Not Going Out"

Well good luck with it then, it's always a struggle getting paying punters in and if only a handful return on a regular basis then the venture has been a success

From the Sutton United home page:

Pay What You Want Day - Saturday 7 March 26th February 2015
We're pleased to announce that we are throwing open the gates at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 7 March for the visit of Hayes & Yeading United, with spectators being admitted to the game free with the option of making a voluntary contribution once they are inside the ground. You may remember we ran a similar and hugely successful day last season when Basingstoke were the visitors, with an attendance of over 2,000 watching U's 4-0 win, and as on that occasion the club will be helped by popular comedian Tim Vine, who will be at the club throughout the afternoon and is hoping to play an active part in the entertainment.
The club's chosen charity for the last two years, St Raphael's Hospice in North Cheam, will also be present and after the game Tim Vine will be challenging supporters to darts matches, with proceeds raised from that going to the hospice. Chairman Bruce Elliott said: ''It was a superb day when we played Basingstoke last season and we hope for something similar next Saturday. Tim Vine has become a good friend of the club, and we are very grateful that he has agreed to give up his time again to help us and St Raphael's.''
