Pub Questions #54 or Reply Privately

Something different for a change
(i) the first pub I've chosen that I have never been to
(ii) a pub with a connection to a previous answer
(iii) there is one further piece of information about this pub that will help

Is that supposed to be numerical, in which case no.
Not geographical either.

One of those, and only one of those two has appeared before.

ok so another haunted pub - but no geog connection so not in Pluckley I assume. The more I googled, the more "better" haunted pubs I came up with - but did not bookmark them!

Oops, apology time, both murder and haunting have appeared in the narrowed down range. It's not haunting.

The Blind Beggar pub in Whitechapel Road if we're looking for a famous murder scene then.

An excellent shout but if not then I will try The Rocket, Euston - murder outside it (like the Ruth Ellis case) only last month

To answer the last three questions.

The connection is to the Ruth Ellis case. No murder was committed in the pub.

Get the location of the pub, and the connection is more obvious.

http://www.theredlionlittlebudworth.co.uk/history where Ruth Ellis stayed - In the 1950`s Ruth Ellis, the last woman in this country to be sentenced to death and then hanged, stayed here. Her boyfriend David Blakely was a motor engineer and racing driver. It was Blakely who she shot to death. Did she consider her murderous intentions during her stay at the Red Lion ?

Not a pub that Ruth Ellis visited, so not the Red Lion.

The Poor Struggler?

Tis indeed, full name is Help the Poor Struggler, the landord for many years was Albert Pierrepoint, who was also Britain's chief hangman, and one of his "customers" in his second job was Ruth Ellis. The pub was on the outskirts of Oldham, and was demolished in 1990 to build the M60, therefore an-ex pub (the bit of information in post 1 part (iii)) but also explains part (i).
