NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Having been away for ther last few days, getting in all the entries hasn't left me any time for commentary this week, so please check I have transcribed your entries correctly.

A few quick points though:
bbcgull leads the overall scores, and also has the highest step 5 score, followed by SuperKev on both counts. JonM is 3rd overall.
tomschman leads the step 1-4 scores, but is 3rd last on step5, so is mid-table overall
tjwoody is the only tipper with a negative step 1-4 score, but is midtable on step 5, which counts more so far
Darren Lovell trails in last on step 5 and overallPirate

Not doing too badly, you're still in 2nd!

This probably the most volatile week there will be, there are a few big moves. The new leader is Gray, coming up from 23rd place! Other big moves are Hawkwind (from 21st to 3rd), SparkyRebel (from 35th to 4th) and pitch 63 (43rd to 6th, gaining a massive 60 points!) and marke (42nd to 13th). Slipping down are Mek (6th to 29th), VP (14th to 35th), Seadog41 (12th to 42nd) and modelhobbies (18th to 46th).

Top/bottom of Step 1-4 are:
Football Man (52)
Pitch 63 (51)
T P (48)
-----------
mnewz (7)
Doody (6)
modelhobbies (0)

Step 5:
SuperKev! (60)
bbcgull (53)
SparkyRebel (45)
--------------
howaythebay (16)
Darren Lovell (11)
coops (5)

leaving modelhobbies (31); Doody (30) and coops (19) in the relegation spots for now Blush. Very early days though!

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

We have another new leader who was outside the top 20 last week - step forward slough_womble, gaining a massive 55 points to move from 24th to 1st! That wasn't the biggest points gain though, as DarrenLovell gained 57 and takes the lead in the step 1-4 table and 2nd place overall. Up into 3rd (and 2nd in step 1-4) is err... myselfBlush. HonestAngelic. 3rd in step 1-4 is newbie marke.

All the top 3 in step 5 are a little lower down overall - bbcgull moves from 2nd to 1st in that competition, but drops to 18th overall due to doing rather less well in step 1-4. Previous leader SuperKev! improved his points at step 5 but is now 2 points behind bbcgull. Up into 3rd is Felix, just a point back from SuperKev! Down at the foot in step 5 competition, coops gained 10 points but is still last - though he has moved up to 2nd last overall. Howaythebay is also still struggling on the step 5 front, but healthy on step 1-4. RussWWFC has the same number of step 5 points as howaythebay.

At step 1-4, modelhobbies has achieved a unique treble in the Isthmian tips - relegation places currently for each of Kingstonian, Tilbury and Ashford Town (Kent)! Those teams have a solitary point between them so far... Not surprisingly, that has had a disastrous impact on modelhobbies competition position - with only Guiseley (5th) and Staines (8th) contributing positively to his step 4 score of -10 and an overall week score of -11Shocked, putting him into last overall. 2nd last in step 4 is Doody (11 - but he has moved up overall) and 3rd last is paignton-nick. Third last overall is tomschman.

I have added the 'Favourites' - the most selected side in each division.

Or am I missing something?

Re: [slough_womble] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

You've slipped off top spot, slough_womble, but still doing very well, in 2nd overall, and 2nd at step 5 too!

The new leader is previous 7th place occupant, northstandexile, who gained 25 points this week (the most). Mansfield have made a good start and so it's looking good all around for him! Northstandexile is also in 3rd in step 1-4 table, a point behind Steve_HFC, but Steve is mid-table as he is not doing so well in step 5. Leading the step 1-4 is myselfBlush; and I remain 3rd overall. Struggling in the step 1-4 setup are still RussWWFC (3rd last, 20), paignton-nick (2nd last, 18) and modehobbies (-9 - a gain on Tilbury, but Guiseley slipped out of the top 8). Perhaps ominously, last years winner Pat B, entered the top 10 overall

In the step 5 comp, Felix now leads the way with 67, but has actually slipped overall due to his step 1-4 selections! Overtaking him overall, and moving into 3rd in the step 5 comp is newbie Mountaineer (with 2 top and 4 2nd places). Coops is still the back of the pack, with Hailsham falling into the relegation spots, but fatbury had a disastrous week (losing the most, -17), with Runcorn slipping and Bishop Auckland now in a relegation spot. Both are fortunate there is no Kent league relegation, as both selected Fisher, who this week climbed from last to 2nd lastPirate. Howaythebay is 3rd last (and also had the 2nd worst week, -15), but all 3 step 5 strugglers are outside the bottom 3 overall. Overall, modelhobbies is still in the wooden spoon position, with andy 1886 and RussWWFC both slipping into the bottom 3 in 3rd and 2nd last respectively.

The other big movers this week, not mentioned above, are mnewz, 2nd best gain with +22 and Tweety +21 who, despite his fears to the contrary, is doing better at step 5 than 1-4Wink! Football Man slipped -7.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

This week saw northstandexile retain top spot overall (145) and whilst he lost 3rd spot in step 1-4, he stormed the step 5 this week (Scarborough, Shortwood, Wick) and now leads that comp by 7 points (84) - despite picking up a minus 5 for Harefield United! The new step 1-4 leader (68), and 2nd overall (140) is myself Blush. Darren Lovell moves up from 4th to 3rd - and is also 3rd in the step 5 competition (74) and equal 2nd at step 1-4 (62). Sarumio nips into equal 2nd at step 1-4. Felix remains in the top 3 at step 5, in 2nd (77).

Modelhobbies still trails in last on step 1-4 (-10) and overall (33). Paignton-nick (19) and RussWWFC (21) remain in 2nd and 3rd last at step 1-4, though both gained slightly. A great week for coops saw him move out of the bottom 3 at step 5 thanks to Scarborough and some small gains. Displacing him at the foot of the step 5 table are andy1886 and Steve_HFC, who both have 20 points. Steve_HFC had a nightmare week with Dover, Northwood and Harefield all suffering and overall dropped 19 points, 12 worse than the next worst performers of the week, tjwoody and Mountaineer. 3rd last in step 5 is now fatbury (22). Overall, RussWWFC (56) swaps 2nd last for 3rd last with andy1886 (47), but his Vase tip, Marlow United, went out in the 1st round. I didn't spot any others out, but most tipped sides didn't play this round.

Top weekly performers were coops (26), Darren Lovell (24) and Doody (23).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted an error on the Bridlington Town score Blush. Everyone with Bridlington Town should have an extra 2 points. The only races that affects though are:
1) andy1886's position at step 5 where he should actually be level with fatbury instead of last
2) tjwoody's week wasn't as bad, equal 3rd last instead of equal 2nd last

Correct points will be in next weeks file (hopefully).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Sorry for the delay. I'm in Dusseldorf and couldn't get an Internet connection at the hotel last night and it's a bit flaky tonight, so this will be brief:

A week when standing still was pretty good progress - though tjwoody excelled with a 25 point gain. At the other end of this week's scale was Darren Lovell, who dropped 17 points but still remains 4th. Northstandexile still leads overall and in step 5, I still lead in step 1-4 and am 2nd overall. SparkyRebel moves up to 3rd and modelhobbies is still bringing up the rear.

I should be able to do a more comprehensive run through next weekend.

One digit less this week, tjwoody. Remove the 5 from last week and you'll have it.Pirate

Largest gain this week is Jon M (22), followed by coops (21) and Football Man (17). Jon M moves up 18 and coops 12 places as a result. This week's sufferers all had made good gains the previous week and so are still positive for September - fishy (-15, down 17 places), UKPunk (-14, down 19) and MadMick (-11).

Overall, northstandexile still leads and has increased his margin to 12 over me (154-142). Into 3rd are the Favourites (130), with current title holder PatB ominously in 4th (128). At the foot, modelhobbies gained 14 (52) and is now only 5 points behind andy1886 (57). Howaythebay is still 3rd last (65) but now only a single point behind RussWWFC.

In the step 5 comp, northstandexile gained 15 (92), but Felix closed the gap slightly (85, +16). PatB also gained 16 to overtake myself into 3rd place (79). All the previous bottom 3 had good weeks, fatbury moving off the bottom gaining 11 points (36), whilst howaythebay and coops each gained 15 points to exit the bottom 3 altogether. Dropping into the bottom 3 are andy1886 (31) and Steve_HFC (40, level on points with 2 others).

In the step 1-4 comp, I still lead the way with 67 but with the gap over northstandexile reduced to 5. Sarumio gained 6 to move into 3rd, replacing VP. Modelhobbies made good progress at the bottom, up 14 points to 12 as Ashford Town (Kent) and Kingstonian moved out of the relegation spots, but is still last. MadMick's -11 overall actually included a 6 point gain at step 5 and dropping 17 points at step 4 dropped him into 2nd last (19). Howaythebay also balanced a good performance at step 5 with a poor one at step1-4 and drops into the bottom 3 (23), displacing Doody and paignton-nick.

I've posted on the FA comps forum for Vase exemptions for this season. I've put what I think they are but I'm not sure.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

The top 3 remain the same after this weekend, but all lost points - northstandexile was the biggest loser this week (-18, 136), followed by myself (-15, 127). The Favourites (-4, 126) remain 3rd and into 4th is DarrenLovell (120). Others who suffered this week were vienna1964, Hawkwind and Steve_HFC, down 15 points each.

Down at the foot, modelhobbies (43) and andy1886 (52) remain in the last 2 spots, but a stellar week from howaythebay (+23) lifted him well clear and MadMick has replaced him in 3rd last (64). 2nd and 3rd this week gain wise were chrisby (18) and T P (16).

Northstandexile's slip sees him just hold onto top spot in the step5 comp (76), now only a point ahead of Felix (75) with SparkyRebel up to 3rd (72). At the foot, Steve_HFC dropped 13 points into last (27), andy1886 remains static on 31 and fatbury 3rd last with 35.

In the step 1-4 comp, the top 3 are also still the same with myself 3 ahead of northstandexile and Sarumio 2 points further back. Modelhobbies slipped back to 6 points, with MadMick and paignton-nick just ahead on 12 points (down 13). Despite this, paignton-nick actually went up overall!

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

This week's biggest gain came from RussWWFC gaining an excellent 25pts; followed by Jamesie (22) and keepz1 (19). Russ benefitted from moves to 1st place for Witton, Whitley Bay, Scarborough Athletic, Leiston, Chalfont St Peter and St Neots! At the other end, it was a bad week for Gray (-12), andy1886 (-11) and tjwoody (-10).

Jamesie's gains moved him to the top of the step 5 table (83), as well as moving from 21st to 5th overall. Second overall at step 5 is now the favourites selection (82) and 3rd myself (78). Previous step 5 leader northstandexile dropped a couple of points (74), but there are several people close in. At the foot of the step 5, Steve_HFC (30) made a small improvement and is now 2nd last, with andy1886 slipping into last (24). Fatbury remains static on 35 (3rd last).

The step 1-4 and overall saw a change of leader at each - with northstandexile and myself swapping which comp we lead! Northstandexile now leads the step 1-4 (65), 1 ahead of myself (64) and Sarumio staying 3rd (60). Modelhobbies dropped 1 point (5), as did MadMick (11) but paignton-nick moved himself out of the bottom 3 at andy1886's expense (17).

Overall, I now have a 3 point lead (142), 3 ahead of northstandexile (139) followed by the Favourites (137) and DarrenLovell (125). Modelhobbies moves up to 48th (45), with andy1886 now last (41). It's very tight for 3rd last, MadMick (70) moving up 6 points and out of the bottom 3, seadog41 (66).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Damn these pesky Favourites! In proving that as a group, our knowledge is better than any individual, the Favourites has now taken the lead in the overall standings, the step 5's and is only a point behind northstandexile in the step 1-4's!

They say pride comes before a fall, and this week I dropped 9pts, only exceeded by UKPunk, who dropped 10. Seadogfan also dropped 8, but will have seen a few goals this weekend with Scarborough going down 4-3 and I believe he attended today's FC United Cup tie v Stalybridge aswell. Should never have been a penalty for the equaliser IMO, but then perhaps I may have red-tinted glasses on Angelic. Cracking game, nonetheless.

This week's biggest gains came from bbcgull and Doody, both up 14 points, and tomschman up 13. All are mid-table though and behind the Favourites overall are northstandexile and myself on 133, followed by Jamesie (129). Early days yet, but last year's winner, PatB, had a poor week and has slipped to 14th. The bottom 2 remain the same, with Steve_HFC slipping into 3rd last (62) with an 8 point to gap to seadog41 (70).

In the step 1-4, northstandexile leads (64), a point ahead of the Favourites and myself, with bbcgull 5 further back. A change in sequence at the foot, with MadMick moving ahead of andy1886.

In the step 5, behind the Favourites are SparkyRebel (80), followed by T P and Jamesie (78). No change at the foot.

In the FA Cup, Hawkwind astutely picked FC Halifax Town and they have already scored him 4 points which cannot be taken away. RussWWFC and bbcgull's gambel of picking Woking and Eastleigh have also paid off with both through to the 4th qualifying round. VP's selection, Farnborough face a a replay v Heybridge, but have 2 ponts in the bag already.

Whoah, perhaps Derren Brown has got a point (unlike half of my teams!). I appear to have managed the dubious feat of scoring the same in both halves of the competition, which probably says something, although I'm not sure what....still at least I'm not in the drop zone this year

Re: [T P] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Jon M has climbed 2 places this week to 15th, so looking good so far!

This week the biggest gain was from someone in need of a few more points - Steve_HFC, for whom 12 points was enough to take him out of the bottom 3 both overall and at step 5. Equal second gainers this week are SuperKev! and mnewz, who gained 10 points each. This was not a happy week predictions wise for Zebedee (-12), howaythebay (-10); tomschman and the favourites (-9).

The -9 drop for the favourites was enough for me to retake 1st position overall, level on points with the favourites (135). Up into 3rd is DarrenLovell (132), with northstandexile slipping to 4th (129). Andy1886 (38) and modelhobbies (47) are somewhat adrift at the foot, with a +3 gain from seadog41 (73) not enough to stop Steve_HFC (74) from overtaking him.

Steve_HFC's good week saw him escape the bottom 3 at step 5 (36). Replacing him in the bottom 3 is modelhobbies (34), joining andy1886 (23) and fatbury (34). The top is very tight, with T P, DarrenLovell and Favourites all on 77, with Felix and Jamesie only 1 point behind.

At step 1-4, bbcgull (65) broke from the pack and now leads by 3 from myself (62). Sarumio is another point behind (61). Modelhobbies gained 5 to 13, but is still last, 2 behind andy1886 (15). MadMick gained 8 points (28) to escape with a 3point drop landing paignton-nick (20) back in the drop zone.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Disastrous results for me this weekend Mad. But not in this competition, where I gained 10 points to keep 1st place overall (145). Hot on my heels though is SparkyRebel, who gained the most (19 to 141) and moves into 2nd overall. 3rd are the Favourites, with Football Man 4th (135). Second largest gainer is T P (14), followed by RRYFS, fatbury, hawkwind and Football Man (13). The strugglers this week were JonM (-14), Zebedee (-13, following on from -12 last week!) and East Fork Utd (-10).

The bottom 3 overall remain the same. However, it was a better week for andy1886, as he moved out of the step 1-4 drop zone. Modelhobbies remains last in that comp, behind RussWWFC (17) and UKPunk (22). At the top of step 1-4, I had a stellar weekBlush, gaining 9 to 71, RRYFS moving up well into 2nd (64) and Sarumio remaining 3rd (63).

At step 5, T P moved clear on 88, followed by SparkyRebel (84) and the Favourites 3rd (81) ahead of Jamesie (79). Steve_HFC's escape from the bottom 3 was short-lived as he dropped back in (36), level with modelhobbies, fatbury's good week enough to take him clear.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Big points gainers this week club wise were Southport, Worthing. Bromsgrove and Hemel Hempstead - the latter 2 exiting relegation spots; slipping up most were Boston, Kings Lynn and Long Buckby (strange geographical phenomena?)

This week's biggest gain was a super +18, step forward...... vienna1964! Just a smidgeon further back was VP (+17) and Mountaineer was hot on his heels (+16). That left Mountaineer with the biggest points gain for October (+34). Slipping up this week was coops (-12), who had pulled clear of the danger zone but is now hovering just above it again. In a similar position is Zebedee, who dropped 9 this week and was -37 for the monthShocked. Davyc's -10 leaves him mid-table.

Overall, I still lead the way (145), with SparkyRebel (138) slipping behind the favourites (139) into 3rd. FootballMan remains 4th. There was no change in the bottom 3, though modelhobbies gained a handy 10 points.

Step 1-4 comp has a new leader - VP (64), whilst I lost 8 points to 63. RRYFS is 3rd (62). At the foot, modelhobbies remains last, but RussWWFC (24, up 7) and paignton-nick (24) exited the bottom 3, with andy1886 (22) and howaythebay (23) back in there.

Step 5 saw T P go further clear, now 11 points clear with 93. Whilst I'd lost 8 on step 1-4, I gained 8 at step 5 and am now 2nd there too. SparkyRebel is 3rd, also on 82. At the bottom, andy1886 remains last, but modelhobbies (43) and Steve_HFC (44) have moved up, ahead of tjwoody (35) and fatbury (40).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Big points gainers this week club wise were Kingstonian, Wingate & Finchley and Wick, whilst Harrogate Railway Athletic and Hailsham Town slipped into the relegation zones.

Whilst most players lost a few points this week, shining out was Sarumio, gaining 14; followed by davy c (11) and Gray (7). Slipping up, it was almost a repeat of last week as Zebedee dropped a further 16 pointsShocked; coops dropped 11 too; and the Favourites were suffering, down 9, along with SuperKev! and SloughWomble.

Sarumio's 14 point gain was enough to take him into 3rd overall (142), at the expense of the Favourites (130). Up into 2nd is SparkyRebel (145), whilst I still lead (151). No change in the bottom 2, but Zebedee's slide was enough to take him into 3rd last (60) and in range of modelhobbies (54).

At step 1-4, VP relinquishes the lead (67) but remains 3rd. I gained 7 to stay 2nd (70), whilst Sarumio's gain took him into 1st place (72). At the foot, Zebedee (23) replaced howaythebay (25) at 3rd last, with the last 2 as before.

At step 5, T P continues to blaze a trail (92), with the same gap to myself and SparkyRebel (81). At the foot, coops displaces fatbury in 3rd last (32), with the last 2 still the same.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Sorry about the delay. I expected to have better Internet access whilst away than I did.Unsure

Consequently some of the divisions may include midweek results (but none from the FA comps).

I can assure people that the absence was nothing to do with what was a very poor week for me (-13)Blush. Only chrisby (-14) suffered more, with slough_womble, Felix and tomschman slightly better off but down 10 points. Top performer this week was a bounceback for Zebedee (how appropriateTongue), up 9, with mnewz up 7 and UKPunk 6.

Overall, that gave SparkyRebel the chance to take the lead, which he duly did (144). I slip to 2nd (138), with Sarumio staying 3rd (136). The bottom 2 stay the same, but the good week for Zebedee saw him replaced in the bottom 3 by coops (60).

I have added a new feature - a top 3 by region, based on the step 3 regions, plus a national level for step 1/2 and FA comps. Midland Alliance has been counted in the Northern section. Leading the way at each are: Southern - VP (51), Isthmian - SparkyRebel (45), Northern - Doody (51), National - marke (27). Doody also manages to be last in the national section!

At step 1-4 Sarumio leads the way (74), ahead of VP (66) and myself (63). At step 5, T P (90) is still out in front, but SparkyRebel (86) has closed the gap and I am in third (75).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

tjwoody leads the week with an impressive 16 point gain - though he is still in the bottom 3 of the Northern picks. 2nd this week is sandhurstbee (+14), 3rd are keepz1 (12). That gain is enough to put keepz1 to the top of the Southern picks! Most people gained this week, so there were only a few who lost - 3rd worst was T P (-4), with fishy down 5 points and modelhobbies down 12 (due in most part to Selsey falling into the Susx 1 relegation spots).

Overall, SparkyRebel extends his lead (148), with myself 2nd (141) and the Favourites (140) overtaking Sarumio for 3rd (139). There is a change at the foot, with modelhobbies poor week coinciding with an excellent week for andy1886, seeing the 2 swap places. Coops remains 3rd last (68).

Sarumio and T P still lead the step 1-4 and step 5 comps, with SparkyRebel retaining the Isthmian lead and marke the National comp lead. There is a new leader in the Northern pick comp, with MadMick taking over (53).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

No change in the top 3 or bottom 3 overall this week - SparkyRebel still leads the way. It's been a struggle of a season so far for andy1886 - but he does take 3rd place for November, at least!Smile

Clubs moving up / down this week were: Highgate and Selsey moving out of relegation spots - and Ashford Town (Kent) and Friar Lane & Epworth dropping into them. 12 of us (including me) are anxiously watching the Kings Lynn scenario which could see a permanent -5.

The biggest gains this week were 12 points for Jon M and Zebedee, with davyc (11) just behind them. Suffering this week are MadMick (down 14) with Hawkwind and RussWWFC down 9.

Despite the slip up, MadMick still leads the Northern comp (46), but is in the last 3 in the Southern comp. Second place in the North, Doody, is in the bottom 3 in the National comp. Slough_womble resumes the lead at national (28), thanks to York City's progress to the FA Cup 3rd round. Sarumio has overtaken keepz1 for the Southern comp leadership (53). In the Isthmian, there is a new leader - vienna1964 - level on points with SparkyRebel (47), but vienna's entry was submitted first. Sarumio and T P still lead the step 1-4 and step 5 competitions but with reduced leads.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

The biggest gains club-wise this week are Chelmsford City (up to 4th) and Friar Lane & Epworth (out of relegation spots), with the only team down 5 being FC United Blush. We have quite a few games in hand though, so hopefully we can move up soon!

The weekly winner this week is coops, up 10 points, followed by mnewz and andy1886. It was a bad week for Mountaineer (-17) and also Tweety (-13) and Jamesie (-12).

The 10 point gain is enough to take coops (78) out of the bottom 3, displacing seadog41 (72). Andy1886's gain takes him to 68, within sight of an escape. At the top, SparkyRebel (139) is down 11 but still leads, but only a point ahead of myself (138) and 2 ahead of Sarumio (137), who has overtaken the Favourites (133).

Sarumio continues to lead at step 1-4 and T P at step 5. The Southern comp is very tight, with 5 tippers on the same score (47) - T P gets the nod for his early entry though. Vienna (Isthmian), MadMick (Northern) and slough_womble (National) still lead their respective competitions.

The update will be late next weekend as I am away until late Monday

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Club movers this week are Ware (out of relegation); Hemel and Hailsham into it. Kings Lynn are still placed in the official NPL table so remain in these rankings, though I expect the results will be expunged.

Weekly winner this week is East Fork Utd (+10), followed by Gray and modelhobbies (+9). Slipping up are fishy and seadogfan (-8), followed by Doody (-7).

Overall, SparkyRebel (145) remains in 1st, followed by the Favourites (140), whilst Gray's good haul takes him above me into 3rd (137). At the foot, the bottom 2 remain the same, but seadog41 overtakes coops.

Leaders at step 1-4, 5, Southern, Isthmian, Northern and National sections are respectively: Sarumio, SparkyRebel, VP, Vienna1964, MadMick and slough_womble. More than half of MadMick's points come from the Northern section!

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

The biggest change this week is Kings Lynn's demise - they are now confirmed as results expunged. I am one of those who selected themBlush, though I can console myself that it takes FC United out of the relegation spotsCool.

Very few changes otherwise - only 4 clubs changed points values this week outside NPP - and surprisingly Gray has selected 3 of them (Bridgwater, Winchester and Willand) - 2 up, 1 down. The other mover were Dawlish (-1).

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Biggest club move this were Hemel, who moved out of the bottom 4 in SLP with a 5-1 thrashing of Bedford Town. Poole Town, Whitehawk and Daventry Town have regained top spots in their respective divisions. I don't have CCL scores or tables (CCL official table is still at 12/12), so they will have to be updated next weekend.

The biggest gain this week was a healthy +16, for paignton-nick, followed by +12 for fishy, fatbury and SparkyRebel. SuperKev! had a shocker, down 13 points, with coops -8 and Sarumio, tjwoody and keepz1 -7.

SparkyRebel's gain sees him take a large overall lead (157), +12 over the Favourites (145), with myself a further 10 points back (135). Andy1886 reached his highest place since early September as coops slips into the bottom 2.

At step 5, SparkyRebel (90) now leads by 9 from T P (81) with FootballMan 3rd (78), and also leads the Isthmian by 1point from vienna1964, with PatB 2 further back. Slough_womble still leads the National comp by 1 point from marke and 2 over RRYFS. MadMick leads the Northern comp by 3 points from Jamesie and the Favourites, whilst VP holds a 3 point lead over SparkyRebel in the Southern, with T P a further 6 back. At step 1-4, Gray (72) is 2 ahead of the Favourites (70) and a further 2 ahead of hawkwind (68).

Best wishes for Xmas and the New Year!

I don't have CCL scores or tables (CCL official table is still at 12/12), so they will have to be updated next weekend.

You can get the official table quicker on Mitoo. There's not much change actually - just three games on the 15th. All games on the 19th were postponed and only one was played yesterday.

http://www.football.mitoo.co.uk/...;LeagueCode=COMC2009

Or there's the unoffical site at http://www.ccleague.co.uk/ which is updated when the bulletins are sent out. It's easier to navigate than Mitoo IMO.
The table on there is only missing yesterday's result - http://www.ccleague.co.uk/ptable.htm

Thanks VP, managed to get a Non League Paper late afternoon after all, but don't plan to adjust for 1 game! I'll use that link in future when I don't have the NLP.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

With many games being off, some of the gains made this week might be short lived, though the old adage of 'points in the bag' may yet apply - Stevenage, North Greenford, CRC and Burnham Ramblers all took top spot and Bridgwater and Greenwich Borough made good gains. Those who slipped up most were all deposed leaders - Oxford United, Camberley Town, Needham Market and Poole Town.

Overall, there was a clear weekly winner - tjwoody gaining 14 points, ahead of paignton-nick (6), MadMick and Jamesie (5). Tjwoody's gains came from Stevenage, Burnham Ramblers, Woking, Maidstone, Deeping and Wroxham. The vast majority of tippers lost points this week - suffering the most were slough_womble, marke and SparkyRebel, all down 12, but I was only just better off, down 11.

SparkyRebel's fall in points (to 145) was almost mirrored by those chasing him, with his lead still +9 over the Favourites, with Gray and VP (131) next. Down at the foot, andy1886 and coops are now level on points (62) in 2nd/3rd last, whilst modelhobbies is 5 further back (57).

SparkyRebel has retained his step 5 leadership (78), but Jamesie (74) moves into 2nd place ahead of T P (72). However, vienna1964 has taken back the Isthmian leadership (by 1 point). There was no change at all in the Northern section, the few games which took place having no points impact. VP still leads the Southern section but has now added leadership of the National section (30), ahead of RRYFS (27) and previous leader slough_womble (25). VP (72) is also now 2nd at step 1-4, behind Gray (75) and just ahead of tjwoody (70).

Am just hoping we have a game on next Saturday!

Re: [T P] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Apologies, I will have to move that one out of the same folderBlush

No change overall at the top, Sparky Rebel still leads by 8 from Favourites, but andy1886 is back into 3rd last and modelhobbies is only 1 point off moving off the bottom.

Performer of the week is Zebedee (+7), followed by hawkwind (+6) and Mek/RussWWFC/andy1886 (+5). Slipping up were Sarumio (-5) and seadogfan/davyc/mnewz (-4).

Leaders in the sub-competitions are: Step 1-4 Gray (76); Step 5 SparkyRebel (77); Southern VP (54); Isthmian vienna1964 (41); Northern MadMick (46); National VP (27)

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Just a brief comment this week:

SparkyRebel still leads, from Favourites and Gary. Some change at the bottom with coops slipping to last, and modelhobbies up to 2nd last, but both very close to 3rd last.

Top score of the week was an astronomical 18 points from seadogfan, 11 points from fatbury and 10 points for davyc. Worst was East Fork Utd (-8), followed by RussWWFC, slough_womble, and Mountaineer

The only change at the top of each of the other comps was in step 5, where UK Punk gained 8 points to lead with 77.

Sandhurstbee your improvement is reflected in coming 2nd overall for January! MadMick was 3rd, but tjwoody wiped the floor with the rest of us, up 11 points more than anybody else, with +25. Marke suffered most with -13 for the month.

A pressing engagement in the pub to watch Arsenal v Manchester Utd prevents me from writing more for now.Tongue

Re: [tjwoody] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Still ahead on step 1-4, tjwoody, though it's a close thing with hawkwind and the Favourites level and SparkyRebel a point behind!

Excellent week for coops - a +10 gain is 3rd best of the week, but enough to take him out of the bottom 3 overall. Disaster for andy1886, who reversed recent gains with an equal 2nd worst -11 point week, to slip to last overall. Slipping into the bottom 3 at the expense of coops is seadog41. Up at the top overall, SparkyRebel still leads (152), but with a much reduced margin, with the Favourites up 6 (148) and myself into 3rd (147, +8). Vienna slips to 4th but still leads the Isthmian.

Best of the week was RussWFC, who gained 19 points!!! SuperKev! also gained 14, but still trails in last in the Northern comp, where MadMick has a 10 point lead. SparkyRebel leads in the Southern, whilst slough_womble, JonM and Steve_HFC have the same points at the head of the National comp. Step5 is also tight with Jamesie (80) now leading from UKPunk and SparkyRebel (79). VP is this week's sufferer - down 14 and dropping from the lead in 2 comps and out of the top 3 in anotherPirate

Re: [VP] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Hmm, good win for Leatherhead but they would still only be 8th on ppg!

No change in the top 3, but the bottom saw a fair bit of movement - seadog41 up 1 to 46th; andy1886 up 2 to 47th and coops slipping 3 to last. Could be a battle of the Scarborough fans as they are now placed next to each other! This week's winner was TP, gaining 17 points (thanks to Belper, Concord, Almondsbury and Poole), followed by 15 points each for pitch63 and FootballMan. Surprisingly though, TP falls to dead last in the National section! The national section is now led by Felix, ahead of fatbury and slough_womble. Suffering this week were RussWWFC (-7), followed by bbcgull and coops (-6).

In the Northern comp, MadMick leads by a healthy 12 points from hawkwind with pitch63 3rd. Mek is now last in this comp. The only chnages in the Isthmian comp are for the minor positions, with Vienna still having a slim lead. Sarumio retakes the Southern leadership from SparkyRebel but only on goal difference (earlier submission). However, SparkYRebel has stromed past Jamesie to the top of the step 5 comp. Hawkwind takes a 7pt lead at the top of step 1-4.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

This week's best score is +8 for Football Man. That gain enables him to take the overall lead from SparkyRebel by 7pts, the first time he has been out of the lead since early November! I also moved above SparkyRebel into 2nd, 5 pts behind Football Man. Down at the foot, modelhobbies was unable to maintain his recent gains and slips back to 3rd last, replacing seadog41.

2nd and 3rd best scores of the week were pitch63 (+7) and fishy (+5). Worst of the week was coops (-10), with vienna (-8) and RRYFS (-7) following him. Overall winner for February is RussWWFC, who gained 27, whilst davyc and Gray slipped down 15pts each for the month.

The gain for fishy helps him take the lead in the step 5 comp (85), and bbcgull takes a narrow Isthmian lead (53); whilst Felix (National, 29), hawkwind (step 1-4, 79), MadMick (Northern, 56) and Sarumio (Southern, 52) retain their leads.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Some good scores this week, helped by Cambridge, Harrogate RA and Redbridge escaping the relegation zone in their respective divisions.

Top scorer this was coops, with +13. No rise in position though, but he's now much closer to the pack above. Slough_womble and Doody also gained 12. Slipping up worst were T P and FootballMan (-8) - that loss dropped FootballMan to 2nd, behind the Favourites. Also slipping up, down 6, were myself (down from 2nd to 5th overall), northstandexile, RRYFS and Felix.

3rd overall is now bbcgull, with Hawkwind in 4th. Modelhobbies now occupies his highest position since the opening week, with seadog41 slipping back into 3rd last, but there are several players within a few points.

A few changes at the head of the sub-comps - fishy loses the step 5 lead to UkPunk (85), but picks up the Southern lead (51); vienna1964 (51) retakes the Isthmian lead whilst hawkwind (step 1-4, 80), Felix (National, 29), MadMick (54) retain their leads.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

A few changes in lead in tables, plus Ashford Town's escape from relagation places whilst Redbridge slip back in, gives a pretty even week overall.

Largest gain this week was from pitch63, up 10, followed by RRYFS (+9) and paignton-nick (+8). Slipping up were RussWWFC and slough_womble, both down 11, and bbcgull, down 10. Interestingly those gained the most during February, RussWWFC and FootballMan, have had the biggest drop in March to date?

Overall, SparkyRebel has returned to the summit, 1pt ahead of the Favourites, with hawkwind up to 3rd and FootballMan 4th. There's very little change at the bottom, though modelhobbies moved further away from the bottom.

More change for fishy in the sub-comp leads - returning to the top of step 5 (85), but losing the Southern comp back to VP (54). The other sub-comps stay as was - hawkwind (step 1-4, 83); vienna1964 (Isthmian, 55), MadMick (Northern, 53) and Felix (National, 31) leading the way.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Biggest movers this week were Redbridge exiting the relegation slots and Barrow (partly because I missed 3 pts they should have had before for reaching the semi-final). Well done to Barrow and Stevenage on making the FA Trophy Final. Barrow was an inspired pick from seadogfan, the only person to tip them to make the FA Trophy final.

Seadogfan almost gained the weekly prize, but +15 was not enough - Darren Lovell picking that up with +16. Third were SparkyRebel and Pat B (+13) - a late charge from the champion? Not many suffered, but it was another Scarborough fan going down worst - seadog41 down 5. Vienna1964, modelhobbies, Mek and MadMick (sounds illustrious company) were all down 3 aswell.

SparkyRebel's gain has increased his lead - 162 over the Favourites 159 - with FootballMan in 3rd with 151 and DarrenLovell 4th (150). Coops and seadogfan swapped places in the bottom 3.

Three leads changed hands in the sub-comps - hawkwind lost the step 1-4 to Sparky Rebel but gains the Southern from V P, whilst Jamesie is the new step 5 leader, MadMick, vienna1964 and Felix still lead the Northern, Isthmian and National comps.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Not so much movement - bit of a change in SL1M - the 3 way title race leaves all on the same points, but with different games played.

Overall, T P has the best gain this week (+8), with Hawkwind (+7) and tjwoody (+6). Slipping up are seadogfan (-11), bbcgull and slough_womble (-8). That doesn't have a great impact on the overall picture, with SparkyRebel still leading (159) - but I nip into 2nd (155) and hawkwind is 3rd (154). No change in the bottom 3.

In the sub-comps, hawkwind regains the step 1-4 lead (83), as does VP in the Southern (58), whilst Jamesie (step 5, 85), vienna1964 (53, Isthmian), MadMick (54, Northern), Felix (31, National) retain the lead.

I am struggling with the 300kb file upload limit, this may force changes in format over the coming weeks.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Looks like VP's laces are well and truly tied. Camberley Town may have slipped a place in Combined Counties, but that gained VP as he has Chertsey! VP's 18 point gain was 12 better than anyone else (Favourites and tomschman). Leatherhead, Whitley Bay and Three Bridges helped VP in particular and he now leads the National sub-comp.

Slipping up this week were fatbury and tjwoody (-11) and chrisby (-10). Overall the bottom 3 remain the same. Sparky Rebel continues to lead overall (161), 2 ahead of the Favourites and 5 up on VP.

In the sub-comps, Darren Lovell takes the lead in step 1-4, just as Maidstone drop into the relegation zone thoughShocked. Jamesie technically has lost the lead at step 5 - but only to the Favourites, though FootballMan is breathing down his neck. VP actually loses the Southern lead to Hawkwind by a point. Vienna1964 and MadMick keep their Isthmian and Northern leads respectively.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Well, we have a new leader - sprinting towards the line is VP - up a 3rd best +14 this week, he is now 1 point ahead of SparkyRebel and 4 ahead of the favourites with FootballMan and Darren Lovell a further 2 back.

Best gain this week was a massive +24 for davy_c - he had too numerous a set of gains to go through them here - check out the Score Details page to see his selections. Also climbing was Mountaineer (+19) and VP, howaythebay and seadogfan (+14). In the seadog battle, seadogfan has opened up a 25 point lead over seadog41! No change overall at the foot.

Slding most this week was SuperKev! (-12 and down to 5th last); tjwoody (-10) and UKPunk (-4).

In the sub-comps, VP regained the Southern lead to add to his National and step 5 leads. Darren Lovell maintains his step 1-4 lead and long(er) time leaders in the southern (vienna1964) and Northern (MadMick) continue to head those sub-comps.

I'm not getting all competetive like but I've just pm'd OS6 to point out Southport should be on 10 points and Fleetwood on 7. So that's three extra points for me and three less for you.
All's fair in love and fantasy football or whatever this is! Tongue

Re: [VP] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

VP is correct, my mistake.Blush I will correct it in next week's but anyone with Southport ought to be 3 points better off, whilst those with Fleetwood should be 3 worse off. Good news for Mountaineer - his 3 pt gain plus a 3pt loss for davyc would give Mountaineer the score of the week (+22). But the gain will come in next week's scores.

Re: [davy c] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Not as good a week for you (davy c) this week, I'm afraid, though you are 3rd in the Northern comp and 2nd for April.

Best score of the week was +10 (RRYFS), with Gray 2nd with +7 and Mek and tjwoody 3rd (+6). Slipping up were RussWWFC and FootballMan (-8) and northstandexile, fishy, modelhobbies and Zebedee (-7). Alas, that returned modelhobbies to the bottom 3 for the first time since the end of FebruaryPirate, allowing coops to escape.

The top 3 remained the same - VP leading SparkyRebel and the Favourites with DarrenLovell taking 4th.

No change in the lead of any of the sub-comps - VP still leading 3 with DarrenLovell (step 4), vienna1964 (Isthmian) and MadMick (Northern). MadMick and bbcgull are both in the top 3 in one sub-comp and the bottom 3 in another!

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Well davyc bounced back with a 2nd placed 7 this week, but 2 behind Russ WWFC's +9. Third were Mek, howaythebay, Mountaineer, seadogfan, all with +6. Worst slip up was coops (-6) - which takes coops back into the bottom 3. Senod worst was keepz1 (-5) and 3rd worst MadMick, mnewz (-4).

No change in the top 3, VP now leads by 8. The only change in the bottom 3 was modelbobbies overtaking coops to escape the bottom 3.

In the sub-comps, the only change is fishy taking the lead from VP. VP still leads overall and in 2 sub-comps though.

Re: [oftenscore6] NLCL 1st results or Reply Privately

Congratulations to VP - he is now definitely this year's winner! SparkyRebel is guaranteed 2nd and Favourites will be 3rd. Darren Lovell will not gain further points, but FootballMan can overtake him should Whitley Bay triumph in the FA Vase tomorrow. Stevenage's defeat also means VP wins the step 1-4 title - he can win this outright if Woking win the Conf Sth playoff, but will win on earlier submission if not. All the other sub-comps are also decided - VP also picks up the Southern and National titles, MadMick the Northern, vienna1964 the Isthmian and fishy step 5. Well done to them all!

The remaining matches just leave minor positions to be settled. Other than DarrenLovell / FootballMan, one intriguiging battle is for 7th, where vienna1964 and myself have the same points - vienna1964 has Fleetwood whilst I have Oxford and Whitley Bay to play. Jamesie is only 1 pt behind but will not earn further.

Thanks oftenscore6 for all of your efforts. Unfortunately I have to profer my apologies at being unable to attend the presentation evening as due to the Icelandic volcano the Government has stopped me from using my gas turbine powered bicycle as my cycle clips may seize up after tonight's curry.

Just to add my appreciations to Jim (oftenscore6) for his hard work this season, he obviously has more time on his hands than he lets on. Is it too much of a presumption to hope he will repeat his efforts for 2010/11??? Wink

And another big thank you to Jim from me. This game certainly helps to keep my interest in all of the competitions from Step 5 and up for pretty much the whole season. Personally had a very good season in this game but just not quite good enough to win it! Maybe next season?!

Just like to say a big thankyou to Oftenscor6, Jim, really have enjoyed my 1st season especially my very small time at the top of the league early doors.

Not only kept my interest in the Step 5 leagues but also the non-league banter on this messageboard.

Also congratulations to VP.........

Quito on Monday afternoon. If you can't make it, the trophy transfers to the next person who canWinkPirate

Seriously, some super picks by VP - got it all wrong with FC United though!

Final tables attached

I am planning to continue next season. I don't have any proposals to improve, other than that the bottom 2 in the Kent and Essex leagues should be considered 'relegated', even though we know they won't be. I am open to suggestions though.

I've an idea.

Instead of awarding game points per position for each selection, why not simplify it and award league table points per team instead?

Re:- the Cup/Trophy/Vase, simply award three extra points per successful round to the league totals.

The biggest advantage to the administrator with that is there'd be very little manual calculation required. Just set up a suitable Excel document where cut and pasted league tables can be imported and let the document do all the work!

I guess you could add in 'bonus/penalty points' for league table positions, etc. - but why recomplicate it?
