One for the 8th April

Essex & Suffolk Border League Division 2
Great Bentley v Tiptree Park

This should have been a 'winner takes the title' match, as it's the last game of the season for both. However Bentley won yesterday 12-0 at Boxted Lodgers Reserves, meaning Tiptree have to win by five goals now to take the title.

Saturday April 1st

Southern Combination (Sussex) Premier Division

Shoreham v Haywards Heath at Middle Road, Shoreham

Top 2 separated by 5 points, each with 6 left games including this one, although a Shoreham victory won't mean Promotion, a 8 point lead would probably rule out Haywards Heath's chance's of finishing top.
Chichester also on same number of points as Haywards Heath so watch out for their games also.

Re: [cherryhopper] Crunch Games 16/17 [In reply to] Can't Post or Reply Privately

Saturday 8th April
Southend Borough Combination Premier Division
Leigh Town v Laindon Orient

Fascinating scenario this.
Starting with the easy part - if Olympian bound Laindon win, they are Champions. It's their last fixture of the season.
If Leigh win, they can take the title if they win their last game, at home to Railway Academicals.
If Leigh beat Laindon by five goals, a draw will be enough for the title in their last game, providing 2nd placed Christchurch don't win their last game at home to Shoebury Town Reserves.
If it's a draw, Christchurch will win the title, if they win against Shoebury a week or two later.
If Leigh beat Laindon, Shoebury Town Reserves could still win the league if Leigh then lose their last game, and Shoebury win their last three - including at Christchurch.

Hope you kept up with all that...

Table as it stands - Played - Points - Goal Difference (16 game season):
Laindon Orient 15-33 +24
Christchurch 15-31 +14
Leigh Town 14-29
Shoebury Town Reserves 13-25 +3

Presumably Shoebury's game vs Rochford reserves on Saturday wasn't played - Fulltime still lists it as a fixture giving neither the result or saying it was postponed.

A few games in the Welsh National League on Saturday. In the Premier Division:

Llanuwchllyn (3rd, P20, 44pts) vs Queens Park (1st, P23, 60pts) - A win/draw for Queens Park would secure them the title. Llanuwchllyn are the only team that can currently catch Queens Park

In Division One:

Penley (1st, P21, 50pts) vs Rhostyllen (3rd, P20, 44pts)
Acrefair (Last, 3pts) vs Lex Glyndwr (2nd, P20, 48pts)

A Lex win (which will almost certainly happen) coupled with a Penley loss will seal them the title and promotion. A Penley draw will also do providing they beat Acrefair by 7 goals (not unlikely). Rhostyllen have to win to stay in contention for a promotion place, a draw or a defeat will send Penley up along with Lex.

Grounds visited: 201

Next planned fixture: Northallerton Town vs Whickham - Northern League Division Two - 21/4/18

Not sure if League table was updated, but Rochford could not raise a team.

Leigh Town actually beat Laindon Orient 1-0, and with Christchurch winning their last game against Shoebury, that took them top, so Laindon and Shoebury are out of the running.

It all comes down to Leigh's last game on the 29th at home to Railway Academicals. They need to win that to deny Christchurch the title.

Saturday in Hellenic Division Two West

Bourton Rovers v Kidlington Res

Kidlington one point ahead of Bourton but have a game in hand with a better goal difference. It's Kidlington last game of the season so a win for either team would give the winners the championship. A draw would mean Bourton need a draw in their last game.

3pm kick off bar and barbecue.

Plenty of crunch games in South wales this weekend

Welsh League Div 1
Cambrian & Clydach v Barry Town United - Barry need a win, though a draw will probably be enough, for the title.

Welsh League Div 2
Llanelli Town v Aberbargoed Buds - A win for llanelli virtually guarantees the title

Welsh League Div 3 - matches at the bottom
Tredegar Town (16th) v Trethomas Bluebirds
Cwm Welfare (15th) v Ynysygerwn (13th)

South Wales Alliance League Premier
Penydarren BGC (2nd) v Pontyclun (1st) - A point for Pontyclun gives them the title

Gwent County League Div 1
AC Pontymister (1st) v RTB Ebbw Vale (4th) - A win for AC Pontymister virtually guarantees the title
Blaenavon Blues v Neuadd Wen (2nd)

Neath League Premier Division
Cwm Wanderers v Ystradgynlais - A win for Cwm Wanderers gives them the title guarantees them at least a Welsh League play-off place.

Wonder if the burgers will fail to show up, as was the case at AFC Broseley on Easter Monday? (Not that I eat the stuff of course, being vegan, but on arrival at the ground a little early it did give me cause to wonder if the match was off, because meat takes a long time to cook and so that is one thing that needs to be done before the players are there.)

Saturday 22nd April

Final games at Steps 3 and 4 and plenty to play for.

Northern Premier League 1 North:
Glossop North End v Lancaster City. Lancaster will clinch title if they match Farsley Celtic's result at Kendal. Glossop one of seven teams chasing three remaining play-off places. As it stands:
3 Ossett Town 72 pts
4 Colne 71 pts
5 Scarborough Athletic 70 pts
6 Trafford 69 pts
7 Glossop NE 69 pts
8 Brighouse Town 68 pts
9 Clitheroe 67 pts

Final fixtures:
Clitheroe v Brighouse Town (Clitheroe need 4 goal swing to catch Scarborough)
Colne v Droylsden
Colwyn Bay v Scarborough
Ossett Town v Trafford

Northern Premier League 1 South:
Basford United v Newcastle Town
6th v 7th on 67 points each, winners need 5th placed AFC Rushden & Diamonds (68 points) to slip up at home to Carlton Town.

At the bottom Loughborough Dynamo can complete a great escape at home to Market Drayton if they match Rugby Town's result at home to Kidsgrove.

Only issue to be resolved in Premier Division is final relegation spot with Corby Town (away to Coalville) ahead of Sutton Coldfield (away to Workington) on goal difference going into final game.

Ryman Premier:
Enfield Town (4th 75 pts) v Leiston (6th 72 pts with better goal difference)
Between these and Wingate & Finchley (5th 75 pts with worse goal difference) for last two play-off spots. W & F are at home to 3rd placed Dulwich Hamlet, who are already secure in the play-off's.

Havant & Waterlooville will clinch title if they win at Kingstonian or Bognor Regis fail to win at home to Metropolitan Police, who are one of 6 teams fighting to avoid the final two relegation spots. As it stands:
17 Harrow Borough 53 pts GD-18 (away yo Lowestoft)
18 Met Police 53 pts GD-18
19 Hendon 53 pts GD-20 (home to Staines)
20 Folkestone Invicta 52 pts GD-10 (away to relegated Grays)
21 Burgess Hill Town 51 pts GD-22 (home to Merstham)
22 Canvey Island 51 pts GD-29 (home to relegated AFC Sudbury)

Ryman 1 North:
Haringey Borough (78 pts) just need a point at home to Norwich United to hold off Bowers & Pitsea (75 pts, away to AFC Hornchurch) for final play-off place.
At the other end four teams could join relegated Wroxham and Great Wakering Rovers:
19 Waltham Abbey 51 pts GD-15 (away to Witham Town)
20 Ware 51 pts GD-16 (away to VCD)
21 Soham Town Rangers 50 pts GD-17 (home to Maldon & Tiptree)

Relegation decider in Southern League Premier Division:
Kings Langley (5th bottom 44 pts) v Cirencester Town (3rd bottom 42 pts)
Cirencester also need 4th bottom Cambridge City (44 pts) to lose at home to St Neots to stay up. Dorchester Town (6th bottom 47 pts) could find themselves relegated on goal difference if they lose at Stratford Town and Kings Langley and Cambridge City both win.

3 teams chasing final play-off spot in Division 1 Central:
Egham Town 71 pts (home to Barton Rovers)
AFC Dunstable 70 pts (away to Northwood)
Kempston Rovers 70 pts (home to relegated Histon)

If teams finish level on 71 points AFC Dunstable have the best goal difference, Kempston the worst.

Tuesday 25th April:

North West Counties Division One:
City of Liverpool (4th P40 Pts 84) v Charnock Richard (2nd P40 Pts 88)

A point will all but secure automatic promotion for Charnock Richard due to their far superior goal difference over 3rd placed Litherland REMYCA (P41 Pts 86). City of Liverpool need to win to take their fight for automatic promotion to the final day. Leaders Widnes (P40 Pts 90) also playing away to AFC Blackpool will guarantee automatic promotion with a draw, the title if they win and Charnock Richard don't.

This one is tomorrow...

Eastern Counties League Premier Division
Wivenhoe Town v Haverhill Rovers

Wivenhoe have to win to stay up, then the small matter of winning at champions Mildenhall on Saturday. As I predicted months ago, even when they were still a fair bit clear of the bottom three, they were doomed.

It is, however, free admission tomorrow night, and they could well at least take it to the final day.

I'd be surprised if the 3rd bottom team gets relegated when the division is already one short with 21 teams. Just in case any further reprieves get handed out the bottom 2 meet in the final game on Saturday - Swaffham Town (26 pts) v FC Clacton (28 pts).

Elsewhere Biggleswade FC, already promoted, can clinch the Spartan South Midlands League Division 1 title on Wednesday night with a win at Wodson Park.

South West Peninsula League Premier Division:
26/4 Tavistock (1st P36 Pts 89) v Bodmin Town (3rd P36 Pts 86)
A win guarantees Tavistock the title, a draw all but secures it due to their far superior goal difference to Bodmin and 2nd placed Saltash (P37 Pts 87).

Plenty still to play for at both ends of Welsh League Division 3, Llantwit Major need 6 points from their final 4 games to take the title, a win at Chepstow on Saturday will take them above current leaders STM Sports who only have one game left. Chepstow (5th P27 Pts 43) are among 6 teams who can catch Panteg, currently 3rd but have finished their season with 46 points from 30 games, for the 3rd promotion place. Two other teams in the hunt meet on Saturday:
Caerau (4th P27 Pts 44) v Penrhiwceiber Rangers (6th P28 Pts 41)

In the battle to avoid going out of the Welsh League, 2nd bottom Cwm Welfare (P29 Pts 23) are relegated but any two of three teams could join them with two crucial clashes this week:

29/4 Tredegar Town (bottom P25 Pts 22) v Caerleon (3rd bottom P27 Pts 24)
03/5 Caerleon v Ynysygerwn (4th bottom P29 Pts 29)

Only ever two promotion places from Welsh League Division 3, so these matches don't have quite the same crunchiness.

And there are only 2 relegation places (because of Barry's promotion with no club making the reverse trip), so Cwm aren't relegated yet.

There used to be 3 promotion places from Welsh League Division 3 until 2015, I wasn't aware it had changed to 2 until you pointed it out. After looking at previous years' tables, Ammanford Town were the last 3rd placed team promoted in 2015, Bridgend Street the first 3rd placed team not to be promoted last year. It seems odd they still have 3 up 3 down between divisions 1 and 2 but only 2 up 2 down between divisions 2 and 3Crazy.

They made the change so that the number of teams going up/down is the same as in North Wales. 3-up/3-down between the Cymru Alliance and its feeders, and 2-up/2-down between the divisions within the feeders.

Big match in the Staffs County Senior League Div 1 on Weds 3rd May between second placed Foley Meir entertain top of the league Stone Doms.

With Foley four points behind Stone but with one game in hand, its likely that the winner of this game will go on to take the title this year. The clubs remaining fixtures are:

Stone D: away at Foley Meir and away at 5th placed MMU: MMU could do with the points for a fourth place finish.

Foley Meir are home to Stone and then at home to Redgate Clayton Res and then at home to Milton United who have hit some really bad form recently.

If you have not been to Foley Meir, its a nice ground with banking behind one goal and along half of both sides. There is a small stand and a reasonable clubhouse. The car park is of a good size. No gate was taken when Penkridge visited there a few weeks back. As there are no floodlights, kick off is scheduled for 18.30.

After tonight's result in the Touchline Suffolk & Ipswich League Division 1 finished AFC Hoxne 14 Ipswich Valley Rangers 0 the league table now stands with 1 game left to play for the top 4 with 2 being promoted:

Benhall St Mary 59 pts g/diff 100-27 (+73) effectively champions
Sporting '87 56 pts g/diff 71-20 (+51)
AFC Hoxne 54 pts g/diff 83-27 (+56)
Claydon 52 pts g/diff 75-30 (+45) can't get promoted

Saturday's games KO: 14:30 are:

I intend on posting the Senior Division situation tomorrow night after Wenhaston have played Achilles.

And there are only 2 relegation places (because of Barry's promotion with no club making the reverse trip), so Cwm aren't relegated yet.

I take it the knockdown effect of no team coming down to replace Barry means only the bottom team (Newport City) will be relegated from Division 2 so nothing riding on Wednesday's Dinas Powys v Aberbargoed Buds clash.

The state of play at the bottom of Division 3, where 2 go down, ahead of Wednesday's Caerleon v Ynysygerwn clash:

Ynysygerwn 29-29
Tredegar 26-25
Caerleon 28-24
Cwm Welfare 29-23

A point for Ynysygerwn will secure their safety; a Caerleon win will relegate Cwm Welfare.

Saturday 6th May:

Llantwit Major (P28 Pts 66) will clinch Welsh League Division 3 title with a win at home to Trethomas Bluebirds. Title rivals STM Sports (P29 Pts 64) don't play their final game until next Saturday, after Llantwit Major have finished their season

At the bottom of Division 3, where 2 go down, Tredegar Town can secure their Welsh League safety with a win at home to Trefelin and relegate rivals Caerleon and Cwm Welfare who both must win their final games on Saturday, even if they do Tredegar have another three games in the next week to get the two points they need, their goal differnce is better than Caerleon but worse than Cwm Welfare.
Bottom 3 as it stands:

Tredegar 26-25
Caerleon 29-24
Cwm Welfare 29-23

Saturday 6th May:

Caerau v Cwm Welfare
Tredegar v Trefelin
Treharris v Caerleon

The Play-Off between the Neath League and Swansea League champions for a place in next season's Welsh League Division 3 has been confirmed for Saturday 13th May:
Cwm Wanderers v Team Swansea - 1430 @ Garden Village FC

It looks like the final day of the season, 13 May, will determine the winners of the West Lancashire League Premier Division.

The two title contenders meet:

Blackpool Wren Rovers v Longridge Town

I'll be up for that but I hope it's still a crucial game since Longridge have only one point from their last two games.

Well there we have it. it all hinges on the final match.

1. Blackpool Wren Rovers 31 80 +94
2. Longridge Town 31 80 +68

Another all or nothing final game of the season will be in the Coventry Alliance

Christ the King, Pld 29 Pts 61
AEI Rugby, Pld 28 Pts 59

AEI Rugby will play Woodlands WMC (A) Tuesday
AEI Rugby will play Christ the King (H) Saturday

========================================
In Herts County League, Division One
AFC Oaklands are four points ahead of FC Lemsford, with two each to play.
So if FC Lemsford get a win on Tuesday (Ickleford Home), and Oaklands do not win on Wednesday (Bengeo away), it will go to the final day
FC Lemsford v AFC Oaklands.

This looks like being the potential title decider in the Mid Essex League:

Tuesday 16th May
Mid Essex League Premier Division
Beacon Hill Rovers v Braintree & Bocking United

After yesterday's results, Braintree are the only side who can catch Beacon Hill, even though they are in 4th place. Braintree have two games before then - one of whom is away to the side in 3rd. If they win those but lose to Beacon Hill, they win the title. Any other result, and it goes down to Braintree's double header with Felsted Rovers on the 20th.

Still no announcement re points deductions so as things stand Wren Rovers vs Longridge Town remains a West Lancs title decider, with the teams level on points albeit the home side have the advantage of a much better goal difference.
For those whose choice of game may be influenced by such things, Wrens are advertising 3 admission to include programme and raffle.

If Braintree & Bocking win, they will only need to win one part of their double header with bottom side Felsted to take the title.
If it's a draw, Braintree & Bocking will need to beat Felsted in both games on Saturday to take the title.

It could be Braintree & Bocking's three point deduction in January will cost them, if they lose on Tuesday.

A crunch game and a chance to tick the Valley cheaper than normal (as long as you count women's matches on your list).

Women's Premier League playoff, Sun 28 May, 2pm, at Charlton Athletic FC. Spurs (Southern winners) v Blackburn (Northern winners).

Winner gets a place in WSL second division next season, filling the gap left by the defunct Notts County team.

5 adults, 2.50 concessions, 1 under 10s. No word on programme cost but I've never been to a WPL game that didn't issue them. Charlton usually charge 1 for theirs. Fans will be in the West Stand.

Cambridge City - on a tour of places we've never heard of and can't spell.
