Lowland League should now be 16?

I think you've dropped Edinburgh University.

CSS run amateur sides. I wonder if they'll fancy the EoS for their second team.

(Can't think why they would though!).

Can we assume that Hawick & CSS have no issues with being promoted to SPFL2 should they win the LL and the play-offs?

If they manage that I'll do a Gary Lineker for NLM.

As you know, others have applied to join the EoSFL, so after the AGM (whenever that is) there should be an increase on 11.

1 at most getting in is what I hear.

Regarding tykeoldboy's query:

No lights at Strollers. Doubt if Hawick's have the required lux.

So yes, there would be problem with one and could well be with the other.

Either the SPFL or SFA have to offer grants to HL/LL clubs to bring them up to SPFL2 standards or the LL need to stop admitting clubs that just make a mockery of the pyramid system.

We all wait in anticipation of your "Gary Lineker" video for NLM.

You currently get grants for lights etc from Sport Scotland I think.

To be honest the pyramid is already a mockery the only true pyramid would be with the juniors incorporated.

The current LL is just a tail stuck on the end of the SPFL.

For all their dislike of the pyramid system the juniors have in their own way created what a pyramid should have been like, all it needed was for the East of Scotland League to be incorporated into the East Region and the South of Scotland League joined onto the West Region as a district much like what the Ayrshire league is at present.

Up north the juniors could have fed into the Highland League.

Regan was offered a substantial bonus to effect this change by the SFA. Presumably it was part of some sort of development plan in the wake of McLeish. His views were shaped by the SFA member clubs from the senior non leagues rather than having an overview of the whole situation. He probably thought Junior football was for kids.

Thought the junior teams made it clear they're not interested in being part of a wider system, and want to stick with their own mini-pyramids. I'm sure they have their reasons, but the fact they've run a separate parallel system for decades and there's not been (m)any overtures to merge with the so-called senior leagues even just regionally is surely evidence of this?

Unlike England, there's not many ways to divide Scotland which splits easily into North, West and East, and which is the structure already adopted by the Juniors. This is to a significant extent paralleled by the senior league structure, so it can't really be an argument about geography. More teams in a unified structure would also allow quicker regionalisation as well, possibly out to six areas as with the old Junior structure.

As long as promotion is optional and not mandatory, what could be the objections?

Selkirk Victoria have announced via twitter that they have withdrawn their application to join the E0SFL.

"Due to certain reasons we have decided to withdraw our application for the East of Scotland league and concentrate on the BAFL this year."

in 2015-16 they finished 4th from bottom in the C League.

Perhaps someone has sobered up.

Leagues with 16 and 11 members and apparently so much disquiet doesn't bode well for the future of a pyramid system in Scotland, in my opinion.

Are they at Five Arches ? Their last 4 /5 were elsewhere, poor pitch or doing it up.

Tweedmouth is just to the south of Berwick. So if it's them from there, then yes, English.

They play at Old Shielfield Park. It is Tweedmouth Rangers who have joined the EOS, not Tweedmouth Amateurs.

Former Scottish League venue. Berwick Rangers played there for a couple of seasons after joining the SFL before New Shieldield was built.

The ground was derelict for many years before being restored by Berwick Rangers for youth team gAmes about 10 years ago. Tweedmouth Rangers moved in from 2014.

New ground for you, Mr Hod?

All their early games were at Five Arches according to league website.

Last 4/5 at Academy and another venue I can't think of, of course only believing league website.

All irrelevant as it's the other side anyway.
