Never been to Tilsley Park had a feeling the grass in the middle was a bit small. Only ever heard of a charity game at Tilsley Park but that was on one of the outside plastic pitches. Thought the Rugby would clash with Athletics meetings. Seems Rugby of both codes does not do very well in the Oxford area. At least parking should be easier than at Iffley Road.

Just read up on Oxford Rugby League first two games are at Iffley Road as a 4G pitch is being laid at Tilsley Park. They can still use the Iffley Road if they need to.

Just to say it appears the Oxford statement means the first two league games. The first game of the season, Hemel in the cup, has been switched to Hemel as neither Oxford ground was available.

Went past Tinsley Park yesterday lot of work going on. Could see JCB four type diggers from the A34 that were in and around the main stadium.

I'm getting texts telling me the cup game between Oxford and Hemel on Sunday 21st has been switched to Maidenhead RUFC. Suggest you double check, Oxford are kicking off 14.30 this season but again check as the texts don't include a kick off time.

Maidenhead has a 3G surface so it would make sense to play there given the recent bad weather. Oxford website still says the game is at Hemel. The RFL has a new fixtures site which no longer lists the venues for matches, it does however now give fixtures for amateur and university leagues.

Although it obviously doesn't stretch especially far in to the future, the Referee Appointments section on the RFL website lists the venue for each game.

Just to flag up that the club haven't yet confirmed the switch. I am wondering whether there nay be issues with getting Maidenhead through ground grading at short notice. I know Oxford had problems with getting gradings done for their on the road games last season, one of the reasons they all up being played on rubny league grounds.

Oxford twitter now commenting and confirming Hemel cannot stage the game due to the condition of the pitch and decision waited from RFL on when and where
This does suggest reservations with venue suggested and I think Maidenhead only has very small stand and no other cover
Hopefully decision soon as would take in game if at this venue rather than head to Coventry but Sundays are generally awkward for any distance

Maidenhead has a fairly big stand at Braywick Leisure Centre (next to where Holyport used to play) and wouldn't look out of place among some venues which have staged Championship rugby league, no names mentionedLaugh.

I would guess that any venue with more than a dozen seats will do, the RFL sanctioned Wigan RU a few years ago just because of this. It was worse than most NCL venues.

If Swinton cannot play at a perfectly adequate ground because of stupid ground grading rules, then why the bleep should anyone else? (Even in a one off situation).

Just to say I suspect if there is a grading issue, it is more to do with getting it graded in time than the ground being unsuitable.
This is exactly what happened re the Oxford on the road games last season meaning they ended up being played at more distant grounds as they were already ground graded.

Hemel have tweeted that it's Maidenhead, 15.00 on Sunday. No confirmation from Oxford though.
If it does happen they have said to be careful which car park you use if you drive. There is a free car park but the ones nearest the rugby club are private.

One for hoppers this summer is Birmingham Bulldogs. They have announced a groundshare with Moseley RUFC at Billesley common. As far as I can ascertain, they mean using the proper pitch rather than an out one.

Another for hoppers this summer: West of England League Bath & Wiltshire Romans will base themselves at Corsham RUFC (SN13 9QG) for the 2016 season. They're using the move to develop a second team.

If anyone is keen to see rugby league at Iffley Road please note that the Newcastle game, on Sunday, is the last confirmed Oxford RL game there. (Should be a cheerful game after this weekends results.)

The next league game, v South Wales, was due to be at Iffley Road but is now TBC and is expected to shift to Abingdon if the pitch is done on time.

Swinton are to play their remaining 2016 home fixtures at the Heywood Road rugby union ground in Sale. Looks as though the Featherstone game on March 13th (3pm) will be the first at what is a cracking little venue. Until now, the Lions have played at Park Lane, Sedgley Park, but the facilities fall well short of what is required for second tier rugby league. Swinton have also signed a lease on a 7.3-acre site at Agecroft. The club hope to build a community stadium there within three years. The traditional boundaries of Swinton & Pendlebury encompass Agecroft which means, for the first time since 1992, when they sold Station Road to a housing developer, the Lions are heading home.

As per the where did you go RL thread Oxford have confirmed the Good Friday game will now be at Iffley Road.

The first game at Tilsley Park is v Hunslet on April 24th. This will then be Oxford's permanent home.

Both games kick off at 14.30.

Harder to find out venue changes for Championship matches since the RFL site stopped listing venues on the front of it's fixtures page but was told by a fellow hopper at Sale on Sunday that Doncaster played their match against South Wales Scorpions at the Athletics Stadium next to the main Keepmoat Stadium. Their match against Hemel Stags on 3rd July is also being played here, presumably the main pitch is being relaid.

It was certainly at the Athletics stadium as stated in today's League Express.

You should be able to cope with a venue switch like this. it is only a 50 yard walk.

NORTH WALES CRUSADERS’ fixture against Coventry Bears on July 3 will be moved to Chester RUFC’s Hare Lane.

The Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium will be out of action again this summer because of maintenance work on the pitch.
The stadium will be unavailable after the Toulouse match and Crusaders are set to return by mid-August.
Further fixtures will have to be moved during the League 1 Super 8s/Shield in the second half of the season. Once these are confirmed, they will be announced at the earliest opportunity.
