The kick-off time of 4 pm is unprecedented for a game of this sort, perhaps there is a function in the clubhouse earlier in the day?

BT Sport have selected Colchester v Peterborough as their second live game on the Sunday (4.30pm kick off). I am struggling to understand that choice to be honest.

It's because its a big East Anglian derby, I'm sure sheffgeoff will confirm!

Of course. The all important 'derby' word. The streets of Peterborough are abuzz with talk of nothing else Crazy. Quite frankly the likes of Doncaster and the Birmingham clubs are closer neighbours than Colchester.

A very odd choice - League 1 v League 1 has no real interest at all to most people and although there was a lack of non league teams at home to league opposition, matches involving either Chester, Worcester, Dartford or Dover would have been much more attractive.

Sorry I can't explain it either! Although I have to say most of the ties look pretty dull on paper with Aldershot the only non-league side drawn at home against league opposition. I'd probably have chosen that one but maybe the TV companies needed to start making plans and couldn't wait for the outcome of the Shots v Pompey replay. The stand-out tie for me is Hartlepool United v Blyth Spartans which got the Friday evening TV slot.

I'm not complaining though as I'll be spending the weekend in North-Esast Essex and it will give me the opportunity to visit a new ground down south the day before, probably a FA Vase tie.

Additionally my team get a 72K windfall which will soften the blow if Posh win as expected.

I wouldn't say we (Posh) are expected to win! We have been shocking lately, but with the news today that our notorious Mac Attack are back together, it might boost spirits if they pick up where they left off a few seasons ago

According to the FA Bulletin, Mickleover Royals v AFC Mansfield is to be played on Sunday 7th December.
Another potential groundshare clash has been averted as Ashton Athletic have postponed their league game on 6th December to allow St Helens Town v Tadcaster Albion to take place that day.

Erith & Belvedere v Yaxley will take place on Sunday, January 18 because Welling have priority over the use of their shared stadium on the Saturday. Yaxley manager Brett Whaley said 'Id much prefer to play on the Saturday as it would be a better day out with coach travel and a night out after the game.' A man with his priorities in the right order. Smile

I'm suprised they choose an uninspiring game like Everton v West Ham (& Arsenal v Hull) above Blyth Spartans v Birmingham City. Odd choice.

Totally agree, 1896. As if they don't see enough of those teams in the bloody PL every weekend.. The Blyth game would've been my clear first choice.

They talk of the romance of the cup and do a pretty good job to be fair with the coverage they give non league clubs but once 3rd round day arrives its all about the big boys and we all know why they are showing AFCW v Liverpool.
