FC United are not intending to play at all at Bury. If the new ground is not ready on day 1, I think they will play at Stalybridge

Step 3 & 4 line ups will change with the acceptance of resignation of Worksop With a knock-on to Step 5 and below. Presumably there'll be another reprieved club at level 4. - Kidsgrove to be reprieved to step 4 (NPL1S)therefore a club (possibly) Bedworth to be moved sideways (to SL1C again, who in turn will move a club to IL1N to replace the reprieved Wingate & Finchley)

Just checked the NPL website after the AGM and on next seasons tables they are showing Brighouse without the 'Town' and changed Kidsgrove from Athletic to United Bit shoddy on the admin front me thinks

That's a really interesting video of the building of Broadhurst Park, wondered how they put the turf down when its such a large area. It may be a while until its ready but it looks like it will be worth the wait. Stamford's new sterile dream 'ground' looks nearly ready on the otherhand - may tick it off early so I can forget it exists!

New facilities to be opened up to Daniels’ supporters and local community "Stamford AFC is to hold a post-construction preview of the club’s new stadium and sports complex ahead of the grand opening of the Borderville Sports Centre. Friday 26th September will see the doors of the complex opened to fans and people from the local area between the hours of 18:00 and 22:00, with visitors getting the opportunity to walk around the Daniels’ brand new Zeeco Stadium. There will also be an opportunity to cast an eye over the new sports facilities at the centre, including the brand new 3G training pitch at the ‘New Hedge End’. The Daniels’ Football Development Centre teams will participate in games on the training pitch to generate an operational aspect to proceedings, while the new function room will also be made available to those in attendance. The Ryhall Road site, which was partly funded by the Football Association, Football Foundation and the Skills Funding Agency was constructed in fewer than 60,000 man hours by RG Carter and sports specialists Limonta Smith. The Daniels’ relocation is firmly on the horizon, with the FA due to conduct a pitch inspection towards the end of September, before giving the all-clear for the club to move from their Kettering Road base." http://www.stamfordafc.co.uk/...th-community-evening

Oh dear. Not only is that new ground exceptionally uninspiring, but as far as I can tell it's two miles out of town up a road with no footpath, and not easily accessible by public transport. Why are they moving anyway?

Why are they moving anyway?[/reply Andy, as you'll know, the current train timetable is perfect for leaving after a Saturday game, in either direction, from the present location. I've struggled to find the detail that you have, but at two miles out of town, that would put it virtually in Ryhall. Is that right? Cheers.

yes it is Ryhall road, am pretty sure there is a footpath. ground is on the outskirts of Stamford half a mile from Blackstones a mile from Ryhall and about the same from Belmesthorpe. Difficult to get to from the A1, but good for the shops

Thanks. That would be about two miles from the railway station then. Not so bad but a footpath would be nice!

Sorry yes, two miles from the station was what I actually meant - it's not a huge distance from where the houses of Stamford stop, but as far as I can tell from Google Maps there isn't a footpath for the bit beyond the houses. There are a few buses up Ryhall Road, but there is no stop between the last houses and the village of Ryhall. Some bus drivers will stop anyway to let you get off and some won't, but you can't rely on being able to flag a bus down from the side of the road for the return journey. Delaine Buses 202 from Stamford Bus Station at 1400 could work reasonably well for the outward journey - it passes the ground at about 1407. But as you get off that bus, you'll see the last bus of the day from Ryhall go past you in the opposite direction - it leaves Ryhall at 1402 - so the journey back into town is going to be a long walk.

If the bus passes the new ground would they not put in a new Bus Stop outside the ground?

Wonder what's on the side where the photo was taken from? Maybe nothing or an Atcost stand? Stamford AFC have bought the main stand from Hucknall Town's ground (it's currently stored in a yard somewhere) presumably for that side. The Stamford site does not really give any clues away also nothing on date when the club moves in. Looking like November at the earliest... a problem with grass growth apparently. Update on Stamford The last match at Wothorpe Road was played last Saturday, with the first match at the new Borderville Sports Centre (Zeeco stadium) being on Saturday 13th December. New Address Borderville Sports Centre Ryhall Road Stamford Lincolnshire PE9 1US
